Ozark, Missouri is a small town in the Ozarks of southern Missouri. The population was 9,914 at the 2010 census. It is part of Jackson County. The town was founded in 1839 by fur traders and early settlers in what is now Jackson County. during the 1830s, the land that makes up present-day Ozark was pocahontas country and it took many years for white settlement to take hold here because of its remote location and harsh weather conditions. This area became known as "the Great Western Territory" because it offered much potential for development but also faced challenges including Indian attacks, cattle rustling, malaria epidemics, bad water supplies, and hard times from both internal conflict and external forces such as wheat prices crashing in 1849). In 1861, when Missouri became a state following the American Civil War, Ozark voted to secede from Kansas due to various economic reasons (chieflywestward migration of farmers since Kansas had become open territory). The townsfolk organized themselves into a provisional government called "The Republic" which lasted until April 1865 when Union troops burned down the building where it functioned as an administrative center before moving on. When this area came under consideration for inclusion within Springfield Township in 1902 due to railroads reaching eastward through that township then headed west along Route 66 they decided against it because they thought Springfield would be more developed than Ozark and would benefit from increased railroad patronage; however Springfield quickly outgrew Ozark's population so much so that by 1906 Springfield had annexing most of what are now Ozark's buildings while continuing to use Ozark's name for all municipal purposes (although with some changes - such as putting an "O" in front of ozarksite instead of an "a"). coatemouth public library opened on March 1st 1898 after $10 000 donated by Mrs. Ira J. For example, multiple warheads on one projectile can provide devastating firepower when combined with an appropriate accuracy mechanism. This type of technology is being used increasingly in anti-personnel warfare munitions such as cluster munitions which explode multiple targets on impact - thus causing thousands or even millions of casualties across a wide area
