The post-World War II years were tough for Neosho as its manufacturing base declined while other communities flourished due to new Interstate highways running through the area including I-70 which connected Springfield with St Louis. But over time things have turned around as jobs returned to Neosho thanks to companies such as Monsanto and Dow Agrochemicals (DowDuPont), which bought local assets during the Recession. Today, there are several high-tech firms active in Neosho including Motorola Solutions and Intel Capital Ventures who are helping keep downtown vibrant despite some economic challenges that may arise from increasingly global competition. Today's economy also depends on significant investments coming from private enterprise such as HPE’s move into downtown last year followed by Amazon’s decision this year to open a headquarters here – one of the largest ever in America - increasing opportunities for job growth both inside and outside of Neosho even as we continue our journey towards becoming an international center for technology innovation well beyond just graphics processing units (GPU) design work!

Neosho is a town in Johnson County, Missouri, United States. The population was 3,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. Neosho was founded in 1881 by General George Armstrong Custer and his family. The town name comes from the Kiowa word "neshi" meaning "a place for living." The first settler in Neosho was James Wills, who arrived in 1881. Wills named his land Shoshone after the Kiowa nation he had been fighting with since 1868. In 1886, John Haney established a post office at Neosho and soon developed a trading post and store. By 1890, there were several stores and homes in the town. By 1901, Neosho had a school and three churches. In 1907, Mayor John Neely donated land to form what would become Park Hill Cemetery which is one of Johnson County's oldest cemeteries still in use today. In 1912, construction began on what would become State Highway 447 which ran through Neosho and connected it to other towns in Johnson County. The highway helped bring tourism to Neosho and made it an important transportation artery during World War I when goods were transported across country via truck or train
Neosho was founded in 1838 by the Neosho Company of Missouri. The town was named for General John Neosho, an officer in the American Revolution and one of the founders of Kansas City. The company built a log cabin on the bank of the Republican River, and it became a center for trade with settlers from Illinois and other states. By 1860, Neosho had a population of about 350 people. In 1861, Confederate troops under General James K. Polk marched through Neosho en route to Springfield, Missouri, where they played a major role in deciding the course of the Civil War. After Union forces seized control of Missouri in April 1862, Neosho's residents began to flee to other parts of the state or else leave for freedom. In 1865, Union troops burned down most of the old Log Cabin once used by Neosho's citizens.
