Neosho, Missouri is a small town located in the northwestern corner of Kansas. The population was 2,711 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Wichita metropolitan area and is one of the most rural areas in Kansas. The history of guns and ammunition in Neosho dates back to 1881 when James J. Hickey started making revolvers and shotguns at his home on the east side of town. He soon became known for his qualityguns and shotguns, selling them through word-of-mouth connections throughout the community. In 1903, Mr. Hickey opened a gunsmithing business near downtown that continued to operate until 1971. His son, also named James J., took over ownership after his father's death in 1971 and continued to run it until he passed away in 2003. During his time as owner, James J.'s pistols won several awards from national rifle organizations including two NRA " champion products" titles (1948 and 1954). In 1951, Jimmy Dixon bought out Mr. Hickey's interest in the business and continued operations under the name Jimmy Dixon Gunsmithing Company until 1984 when it was dissolved by decree due to Dixon's failing health circumstances; however, continuing sales were handled by another son - John - who ran it until 2001 when he sold it to Russ Gifford who operated it until 2006 when Neosho Wrightville Arms Corporation purchased it from him."

The town was platted in 1875 by John Dickey with the understanding that it would be named for General William Sherman's wife, Angelina Benton Dodge II (1830-1912). In 1880s and early 1900s Neosho had many whitesmiths and other metalworking businesses including two foundries and a forge which are still standing today. In 1907 Neosho had its first post office which opened on Main Street between State and Elm Streets. Today's Post Office building was built in 1919 as a schoolhouse annex to Neosho High School which then became an community center before being moved to its present location adjacent to the current high school in 1957. In 1905 local physician Dr Cushing founded St Luke's Hospital which has since become one of Jackson County’s most prized resources for healthcare with over 100 beds providing services such as care for the elderly, children and pregnant women; emergency room; maternity unit; pediatric unit; obstetric ward; intensive care unit (ICU); dialysis clinic; research lab & extension service; daycare center & library/gallery/garden while also serving as a regional hospital affiliated with Kansas City Regional Medical Center providing primary care services to approximately 6K patients per year across all types of cancer clinics throughout KCMO region

Neosho is a town in St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. The population was 9,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield-Springfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. Neosho was founded in 1854 by farmers from Illinois and Indiana who had moved to this area after the Kansas-Nebraska Act granted slavery status to Kansas Territory. At first all of the male settlers were farmer men; their wives and children took up industry oreducation. The first post office was established in Neosho on October 2, 1854, by A.O. Brownell with Wm Henson as mail carrier. In 1865, John Pohlman built a log cabin near what is now intersection of Main and Third Streets which became home over the years of Mr. Pohlman's two daughters and their families until they sold it in 1907 to J C Whitehead who made it his home for many years until he died in 1947 leaving it to his grandson J C Whitehead III In 1873 local citizens organized a community meeting when they realized that there was no water available for irrigation purposes within driving distance of their homes so they decided to build a dam across Beaver Creek (now known as Poplar Creek) which would provide them with water year round instead of just during summer months when it rained or snowed When Fraiser Electric Company purchased the land adjacent to Beaver Creek Dam site from J C Whitehead I in 1924 they began construction on what would become one of America's largest electric submarine power plants ever built with an initial capacity of 3 MW using riverine transmission lines extending down both sides of the Missouri River A new substation west side store building located at corner Third Street and Main Street opened December 15th 1926 serving customers from east side suburbs such as Decatur, Bellefontaine Heights, Oak Lawn etc France Electric also constructed substations on opposite banks opposite damsite providing service northward into suburban St Louis including Ferguson Finally Silverton Utilities Construction Company AG commenced operations March 1st 1928 completing installation including final line interconnecting mainlines east/west across river
Neosho, Missouri was founded on May 10, 1837, by Samuel Neosho and family. The first post office in the area was established in 1838. In 1860, the town had a population of just over 100 people. However, within a few years, Neosho had grown to more than 1,000 residents. By 1870, it had become an important railroad center and had replaced Carthage as Missouri's mostimportant city. The Panic of 1893 caused a significant decline in business activity in Neosho but nonetheless the community continued to grow until the early 1920s when it became an agricultural center due to its location at the edge of what is now Kansas City.
