Moberly is a town in Johnson County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,528 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield, MO Metropolitan Statistical Area. Moberly is located on the edge of the Ozark Mountains and includes parts of both the eastern and western parts of Johnson County. The first European settlers in what is now Moberly were three men from Kentucky who named their land "Ozark." They arrived in 1827 and started a small farm near what is now downtown Moberly. The men's families continued to live there until 1846 when they all moved to present-day Lebanon, Kansas Territory. Moberly began as a post office in 1854 and was known as "Lebanon Post Office" until it became "Moberly Post Office" on July 1, 1907. It has been known as simply "Moberly" since that time. The original plat for Moberly included entire present-day downtown area east of Second Street between West Main Street and Seventh Avenue South; this area was later split into two separate plats which are still visible today: one plat east of Second Street between West Main Street and Eighth Avenue South (now North Third Street) and another plat west of Second Street between Ninth Avenue South and Tenth Avenue South (now East Fourth Street). In 1865, work began on building the Atchison Pacific Railway through Johnson County which would eventually become part of the Union Pacific Railroad system. This made Moberley an important stop for passengers traveling westward along the railroad corridor from Springfield to Kansas City or St Josephsville or Junction City or Topeka. In 1886, when construction stopped because of a lack of funding, local residents gathered together to build their own railroad depot which would serve as an important center for trade during those early days when railroads were just starting to take hold in this part of Missouri. That depot - also known as Depot Square - still stands today within walking distance southwest of Downtown Moberly off First Avenue Southeast/West Main Streets

Moberly has since been reconstructed and is now one of the more vibrant towns in Missouri. The city is home to several museums, including the Missouri History Museum and Museum of American Art, as well as numerous businesses and restaurants. In addition, Moberly has become known for its annual parade which features many local favorite attractions such as fireworks displays and carnival rides.
Moberly is a city in St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. The population was 21,812 at the 2010 census. It is the second-largest city in St. Louis County after Ferguson. The first white settlers in Moberly arrived in 1836 and began to farm land near the current downtown area. A post office was established in 1839 and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1951. In 1845, a steamboat called "Hollywood" landed at Moberly from Springfield, Illinois on its way to Cairo, Illinois carrying goods for the local farmers. In 1854, Alexander Macdonald built a sawmill on the riverbank just north of downtown Moberly and named it MacDonald Mill after his father's birthplace in Scotland. By 1865, there were over twenty mills operating around town including several thousand barrels of oil per day being produced by MacDonald Mill alone! The mill closed its doors for good in 1907 but continued to generate interest through weddings and other events at Macdonald House which still stands today! Moberly soon became an important transportation hub with two railroad crossings point providing easy access to both Springfield and Cairo (via Hennepin Street) as well as the Temperance Valley Railroad which ran between this area and Great Bend, Kansas via Union Pacific Railroad tracks crossing just south of town! Numerous businesses were founded along Hennepin Street during this time including J & W Bakery (founded 1886), Lumber Yard & Warehouse (1893), Boot Shop (1895), Davenport Brewery (1902), Nelsons Drug Store (1905) and many more! The late 1800s also saw some significant growth within the community with construction of new housing developments such as McNaught Place subdivision which opened up along Hennepin Street east of town center in 1902 followed by additional subdivisions throughout downtown Moberly over the next decade or so making it one of the most heavily populated areas within present-day Moberly! This growth led to increased traffic congestion on Hennepin Street especially during busy shopping periods! 1
