Maryville, Missouri is a small town in the Ozarks of central Missouri. It was founded by Methodists in 1836 and named for the Virgin Mary. The first Catholic chapel was built in Maryville in 1865. After World War II, the Methodist church became non-denominational and later merged with an Episcopal congregation. In 1996, the town voted to become a city. When Holster Corporation began manufacturing handguns in 1913 they made their product known as the Colt Python series handguns which were chambered for .45ACP rounds but could also fire other types of ammunition such as .38 Specials and 10mm Parabellums through conversion kits available at purchase time (See appendix A). At this time Holster Corporation had two plants located in Stroudsburg and Kansas City Missouri making over 1 million pistols per year; however production ended during World War I because of wartime shortages caused by munitions produced by Germany not Austria

This weapon was designed by Captain Samuel Prentice and manufactured by Grosse Pointe Arsenal Company. Over time, more and more companies began producing handguns in Maryville. Some of these companies include Smith & Wesson, Colt, Remington Rand, Winchester Repeating Arms Company, and SIG Sauer Corporation. By 1922, Maryville had become home to the world’s second largest handgun manufacturer after Chicago!

This event left Maryville with little hope for future development; however, it remains an important historical landmark for its role in history and culture.
In 1814, the town of Maryville was founded by James M. Mason and other pioneers. The town was named after the daughter of General David H. Armistead, who donated land to the town. The first store in Maryville opened in 1817. In 1830, a post office was established in the town and remained in operation until1868.
