The company grew even further and by 1984 had four stores and a staff of seventy-six employees. By 1991, Bayshore-Optical Corporation had become part of American Optics Corporation and continue to grow until it merged with Jarda in 2006 to form Jarda Vision Incorporated. At Jarda Vision Incorporated, optical products were produced under three divisions: corrective optics (including lenses), facial optics (including vision therapy devices), and home theater systems/ electronics/vision components/lenses.
Maryland Heights is a town in St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Saint Louis metropolitan area. The name comes from the Maryland Heights neighborhood of St. Louis City. According to one source, "the name derived from a spot on High Street about distance from where present-day Maryland Heights Cemetery stands." The first settler in what is now Maryland Heights was James Kappenberger who arrived in 1792 as an immigrant from Germany. He and his family were among the earliest settlers in what would be called the Northeast Side of St. Louis City (now northcentral Missouri). In 1814 James Kappenberger's son John founded a gristmill on Horseshoe Hill which became known as Maryland Heights Mill after he bought it out of bankruptcy in 1827. By 1830 John had passed away and his mill was run by his widow Martha Kappenberger until it went bankrupt again in 1846 when she married Nicholas Bemis, Jr.. Nicholas Bemis later donated land to form Ripon Park which includes much of what is now Marymount University and also includes much of Blackhawk Woods off Northside Boulevard east of Rockwood Road (now Hiawatha Avenue)). In 1847 Samuel Morse bought 5 acres adjacent to Baltimore Mills for $1 million dollars which would become one of downtown Saint Louis' most important commercial areas today - including First National Bank and Sears Roebuck & Co., Knollwood Inn, ramps leading up to I-64/I-70 motorways (Exit 10), and several blocks long stretch along Washington Boulevard between Seventh and Eighth Streets - home to many local businesses that still exist today such as Jussie’s BBQ restaurant (later Alamo Drafthouse) on Seventh Street near Interstate 70 Exit 11), Moe’s Tavern ( subsequently Joe’s Barbecue ), L&L Steakhouse (formerly Greek Grill ), Radio Shack store on Prospect Avenue across from Nordstrom Rack - all close together next to each other with parking lots available on every block - making this one of the busiest shopping areas in downtown Saint Louis today! In 1952 Richard Nixon gave birth to daughter Patricia Elizabeth Nixon at Bethesda Naval Hospital just down the street from her father's office at Fordham University Law School; nearby Seminary Hills opened its doors that same year with president Dwight Eisenhower giving a commencement address! Today, most residents are either military veterans or their children who have moved to larger metropolitan areas such as Kansas City or Springfield.

By 1830, the town had over 100 residents and boasted one of the first post office buildings in Missouri. In 1835, the town's first school was built and by 1840, there were enough citizens to support a second post office building. The towns growth continued into the 19th century with more homes being built and businesses opening up. Some of these include a paper mill and hotel which thrived until the late 1800s. By 1870, most of the original town had been destroyed by fire or natural disasters such as hurricanes. However, parts of it still stand today including portions of Maryland Heights Cemetery which is also home to one of Missouri's largest collections of historical gravesites
