Marshall, Missouri is a town located in the southern part of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 938 people. The name "Marshall" was given to the town by General David Marshall after he and his band played at a local fair in 1811. The town center is home to the Marshall County Courthouse and several businesses including a grocery store, post office, bank, auto dealership and beauty salon. The earliest known inhabitants of this area were Caddo Indians who lived along the banks of the Niobrara River until around 1750 when they were pushed out by white settlers. French traders arrived in what is now Marshall County in 1762 and began trading with Native Americans here before eventually moving on to trade with Mexico. In 1806, General Andrew Jackson's army invaded Indian Territory and discovered this area while exploring for new land east of Illinois River. When he learned about this territory's potential for agriculture, he decided to make this area his headquarters during his campaign against Mexican President Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna in 1812-1813. AfterSanta Anna was defeated at Battle of Pueblo Bridge on October 16th, 1813, General Jackson ordered General Wofford Sherman to march into Indian Territoryand burn all their villages as part as punishment for their support of Santa Anna The first white settler in what is now Marshall County was John Burt who arrived here from Kentucky circa 1800s In 1850s there were only six families living here – one family removed to St Louis due to cholera pandemic which swept through that city at that time In 1860 there were 167 residents living here according as well as two newspapers which served as community newspapers until 1925 On November 3rd 1870 Marshal's post office opened with mail service coming once per week from St Louis In 1905 there were 563 residents living here making it one of the largest communities in eastern Missouri In 1920s smallpox killed much more people then tuberculosis did so many people left Marshalls over that decade because TB wasn't considered an important disease then During World War II most residents enlisted or volunteered with military service either through Pearl Harbor Attack or later just prior to American entry into war which resulted in high levels immigration especially from Germany From 1945-1949 lots of displaced persons came thru Marshalls due various wars such as Korean War & Vietnam Wars etc… & finally since 1990s many refugees have come thru Marshalls fleeing violence & persecution

Gun lights and arc-lights continued to be used in various applications until the late 1970’s when they were replaced by electronic strobe lights as the most efficient way to lighting up areas during firefights.

Marshall was founded in 1819 by Capt. David Coffee, a Union soldier and member of the Topeka Convention of 1818. The town grew quickly because of its strategic location on the Missouri River, and it became an important port for goods traveling to and from Kansas City. Between 1825 and 1830, Marshall had a population of over 200 people. In 1840, Marshall became the capital of Jackson County after it was created from parts of St. Francois County and Linn County. In 1860, when Kansas Territory was organized, Marshall became the seat of government for that territory. Because it lay within Missouri's eastern border (and because no other city in that territory had any real prominence), Marshall remained an important center for politics and commerce until about 1870. By then, however, newspapers had started to move away from Marshall as their primary source of news; instead they began to concentrate their efforts in Kansas City. After Reconstruction ended in 1865, Marshal lost much of its importance as a commercial center due to increasing railroad traffic and development outside the town limits. However, there are still some remnant traces ofMarshall's past including a small park located near downtown which is open to the public during regular business hours.
