In 1903, the United States Patent office awarded a patent to George Eversfield for what is now known as the Eversfield BB Gun. This gun was designed to be easier and faster to load with rounds than earlier handguns. The Eversfield BB Gun quickly became popular among recreational shooters across America and was also exported to many other countries. It annexed adjacent townships in 1916 and again in 1930; its annexation total includes land that now makes up portions of both Jackson County and St. Louis City neighborhoods. After World War II, Manchester established itself as a major center for engineering research with numerous companies built or headquartered there including GEICO, Monsanto Company (now Bayer) and Siemens AG among others; today many high-technology firms are based there such as Microsoft Bing Inc., Intel Corporation (in Howe Park), Apple Inc., Dell Inc., Schlumberger Limited Partnership (formerly called Gulf Oil Spillway) among others The city has seen some growth since it was designated as a global trade center forStLouis during the late 1990s; recent expansions have included new retail development along US-61/I-435/MoPac Expressway north from downtown to include several thousand jobs over two decades Manchester has long been known for its excellent agricultural production - maize is one of the main crops grown here - but also for its abundant nightlife which has helped make it an attractive location for tourists visiting various sites around town including Zionsville National Park to see exhibits about Ancient Egyptian culture

By 1860, Manchester had a population of about 50 people living on land that would later be developed into downtown. During the late 19th century and early 20th century, Manchester experienced significant growth thanks to its location as one of several Union posts along the Great Lakes region . In 1861, Manchester joined neighboring St Louis County when it was created following their merger with Jackson County . During this time period,Manchester experienced significant construction projects such as advancements in transportation which helped make it one of America’s most prosperous cities during this time period Additionally ,during this era many famous Americans lived and worked in or around Manchester including: General Ulysses S Grant; Abraham Lincoln; Franklin D Roosevelt;and Jay Gould
