This weapon was called the Peabody Rifle and is still in use today. In 1892, Columbian manufacturer John Brown & Sons developed what is now known as the Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR). This weapon used 6 round magazines instead of 8 rounds like most handguns, which allowed it to function as a self-loading rifle. The BAR became world famous for its effectiveness at battle and remains popular today. In 1937, Winchester introduced their Model 10 automatic pistols which would become widely recognized for their accuracy and firepower. The Model 10 was chambered for both 9mm Luger ammunition and .45 ACP cartridges, making it one of the most versatile firearms ever created. Today, manual or semi-automatic rifles are still common across many different platforms worldwide due to their ease of use and firepower
