This company was successful and continued production until 1912 when it merged with The Holland & Knight Rifle Company to form The Holland, British American Armory. In 1932, The Armoury merged with Purdey Firearms Company to form Purdey-Armoury Arms Corporation which continued manufacturing rifle barrels until 1938 when it merged with Remington Rand to become Remington-Rand Arms Corporation.

The first residents of what is now Lebanon were farmers and their families who settled there in the early 1800s. By 1860, the population had grown to over 100 people and by 1870 it had reached 300 people. Today, the town has a total of 10 businesses and 2 schools including one private school that serves students from grades K-12. Lebanon is home to an important military installation which includes a nuclear weapons storage facility as well as an ammunition production plant. The arsenal has been used to produce munitions for both World War II and Korea. In addition to its military significance, Hezbollah University also operates here in Lebanon. In 1861, General James Harker arrived at what is now Lebanon with his army on horseback after being sent by Governor John Fenton to lead an expedition against Confederate forces under Robert Ewell during the American Civil War.
