Grant (1872-1939), and a daughter, Julia Anna Polk Grant (1875-1965). In 1912, the family moved to St. Louis after their father was elected President of the United States. They lived there until his death in 1913. In 1927 they moved back to Lebanon and continued to live there until their death in 1965.
Lebanon, Missouri is a small town located in the Ozarks region of Missouri. The population was 5,399 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield-Springfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community began as a farmstead on the site of what is now Lebanon High School. By 1882, there were two schools and thirty-one residents in this unincorporated area near Carbondale. In 1916, a post office was established in Lebanon and remained open until it closed in 1966. In 1922, a railroad station was built east of town and served as a primary transportation link for the community through its years of growth. The first high school graduates from Lebanon graduated from Carbondale High School in 1935; by 1942, only boys were graduating from high school because girls had not been admitted to that institution until then. In 1949, Lebanon accepted an invitation to become one of two towns within the newly created St Louis-St Charles County metropolitan area; it became an official municipality on July 1, 1959. A year later, the citys first library opened its doors to students and locals alike after nearly four decades of effort by Mrs. Alice Hinton (1886-1978). Many businesses have been built or are currently being Built throughout much of Lebanons history with some still standing today like: United Hardware Store (now known as Best Buy), Lebanese Bakery & Restaurant (now known as Fairway Pizza), Lafayette Chevrolet dealership (now known as Jiffy Lube), Presbyterian Church (now First Baptist Church) which features several unique architecture styles including Gothic Revival and Byzantine Revival while also having one of America's largest outdoor prayer services each year on Christmas Eve at 7pm CST! There has also been significant construction going on inside/outside our town such as: newElementary School - replacing an old elementary school that sat unused for many years since it burned down in 2006 due to arson; new Middle Schools - 3 which opened up between 2009-2013 including Northside Elementary School serving grades PreKindergarten thru 8th grade; new High Schools - 2 just outside our boundaries serving grades 9th thru 12th grade with plans to build another soon! As you can see there has never been anything stopping people from wanting to live here! Today Hezbollah continues experiencing rapid growth rate with over 10%, more than double their pre2010 population when they had 4 kids max instead now has 16...
