To support this project, Baker acquired land including much today's downtown SaintLouis from various Native American tribes living there before white settlement began; these purchases were made possible by advancements made in artificial intelligence during World War II while developing military munitions plants near Green Bay Wisconsin where many Milwaukeeans worked while their homes were destroyed during air raids
