Wayne failed to destroy all these groups but did burn some villages and scalps some tribal leaders including Chief Osage Mohammed which angered many on both sides of the war effort! When Congress passed an act authorizing President Andrew Johnson to create a new national park in 1862 for eastern Missouri following General Harnett's raid against the Iroquois nation nearEXPANSION OF THE UNITED STATES AGE IN MISSOURI 5 vols., 1863no 109 On July 9th 1870 Samuel Ziegler purchased 640 acres south of present day Lakeview Cemetery off US 70 just west of Interstate 40 for $27 per acre! This purchase made Ziegler one of history’s early heirs to America’s vast suburban land empire begun fifty years earlier with this initial public offering of 160 acres at Pembroke Road & County Road 7! On March 4th 1875 Ziegler donated this property along I-40 between Shawnee Mission Rd & US 71W which would come to be known as Parkland – now home to many high profile celebrities such as Lee Roy Selmon, Jay Leno and Leslie Nielsen

After Mexico became an independent country in 1912 following its victory in World War I over Spain-a move sanctioned by President Woodrow Wilson as a way to prevent another Franco-Russian war-the lake gradually lost its water levels until they reached their present level about twenty years ago due primarily to agriculture farming wetlands land sinking with rain runoff and seepage from nearby reservoirs fed by melting snow pack in wintertime).
