Lake St. Louis is a large body of water located in the U.S. state of Missouri, approximately 12 miles (19 km) long and 5 miles (8 km) wide at its widest point. The lake is named after General James K. Polk, who was the 25th President of the United States from 1845 to 1849 and a member of the First National Bank of America Board of Directors. Polk had been an early backer of the city's growth and donated land for its creation on which today's city stands. In honor of Fenton's legacy, mayor Francis Slay announced plans to name streets within walking distance of City Hall "John Fenton Way" beginning in 2020.[1] The present day formate Lake St., Moselle formation dating back to younger Cretaceous period when there were three major tectonic plates meeting each other along this area: African Plate (north), Eurasian Plate (south), and North American Plate (west). This created what are now three major rivers that flow through this region; Mississippi River - north side | Illinois River - east side | Saint Francois River - west side These three rivers drain into different parts ofMissouri all converging eventually forming one big body called "Lake SaintLouis" about 12 miles wide by 5 miles wide at its widest point with various islands scattered around it like New Orleans or Tampa Bay would be if these waters were not split apart by mountains!
