These clamshells are products eitherof sexual reproduction or scavenging behavior among fish populations during periods where food scarcity has been documented (e.g., during drought years). Clamshell production typically increases with decreasing depths so that at shallower depths there will still be significant accumulations although their size will have decreased somewhat due to competition from other forms of shellfish available at this depth range [5]. During times when high levels (>30 cm/day) or intense rainfall (<0.3 mm/day) occur within 2 km radius around any point on its surface, scouring action occurs which results in removal along with some deposits down to about 10 cm deep including cobbles and gravel bars (Figure 1d). This erosion creates channels called sills that run parallel to each other for distances up to 50 m from shoreline but reach their widest extent just beyond mud flats where currents flow more easily [6]. Alluvial fans may form along shores extending into deeper waters caused by waves crashing against banks created by tectonic forces [7], while during times when no current moves through the lake bed large expanses known as bedsock form where sediments accumulate over time due to winds and waves deposition rates [8]. Bedocks also play an important role in controlling turbidity levels because they collect sediment allowing organisms such as zooplankton[9] and macroalgae[10] greater access sunlight while eliminating pollutants produced by photosynthesis
