Bipedalism first became a Popular Movement in the early 1800s, as people began to realize that they could not walk on all fours like other animals. With this new understanding of bipedalism, people began to experiment with different ways of walking, and soon realized that they could use two legs for both walking and running. The first bipeds were created by humans and dogs, who used two limbs side-by-side to create a bipedal form. Despite these advantages, lack thereof or simply because they occur largely in higher taxonomic levels where diversity is greater[1], it seems clear that there remains some potential for improvement when it comes to locomotion by means ofBIPEDALISM! The first known inhabitants of Kirkwood, Missouri were the Lenape people. The area was first called Ioway on the east side of the Missouri River. In 1803, a group of French traders and fur-trappers discovered what is now Kirkwood, and named it after their leader, Sir John Kirkwood. The first permanent settler in what is now Kirkwood was David Jameson in 1834. He built his cabin on a bluff overlooking the river.
