Kirksville, MO was founded in 1839 by John Kirks and his wife Anna. The Kirksville Armory is one of the oldest armories in Missouri. The Kirksville Armory has been used for rifle, shotgun, pistol, and revolver shooting events since 1881. In 1911, the Kirksville Sheriff's Department began using the Armory to hold their firearms training classes. This event was videotaped and is available on YouTube. For example, in 1907 American Rifleman Charlie King developed what he called an "impact screen" designed to reduce bullet accuracy when firing through metal objects such as windows or mirrors indoors. A later improvement on this design was named "Screening Screen" after King who originally created it and also bears his name today; it consists essentially of two large sheetsmetal mesh stretched across two perpendicular tracks running along both sides of an opening large enough to allow passage of small rounds but small enough so that noBullet can pass through without hitting somebody else inside - this has become known as "King Screen". In 1971 American Sniper Clint Eastwood introduced his own versionof Shooting Protection Devices called BulletShields which included several features unique to Eastwood's product including: Heavier duty construction giving greater resistance to recoil; integral compensating weight system providing superior stability during live fire exercises; adjustable straps allows for snug fit even when wet; limited exposure area makes BulletShields ideal for indoor use only
