The Kirksville Rifle and Pistol Club was organized in 1892. The club first rented a room in the old courthouse, then purchased the building in 1902. The club first met on Saturday nights to shoot pistols. In 1909, the club moved to its current location, which is located on Main Street between Ninth and Tenth Streets. The Kirksville Rifle and Pistol Club has been meeting weekly since 1912.
Kirksville is a town in the United States state of Missouri. The population was 1,821 at the 2010 census. Kirksville is part of the St. Louis metropolitan area. The first European to set foot in what is now Kirksville was John Fitzpatrick, an Irishman who arrived in 1788. Fitzpatrick founded a trading post on this site and named it Fitzpatrick's Ferry after himself and his family. In 1803, he erected a log cabin on the present site of Kirksville Center Mall, which he used as his home and store until his death in 1811. His grandson, Daniel Fitzpatrick (1795-1864), moved to Kirksville from Sparta Township, Illinois in 1827 and helped start the first wagon train through Missouri from Illinois to Kansas City on July 4, 1830. He also built a cabin near today's downtown Kirksville for use as a hotel until 1840 when he sold it to Captain Samuel French (1792-1865). Captain French began expanding trade with the Indian Territory by sailing downriver from St. Louis for goods brought back overland by Native Americans during the buffalo hunt of 1833-34. They discovered corn and other crops; however, after France's surveyor reported that there were no such things east of the Mississippi River as buffalo herds, he discontinued trading with Indians and abandoned his colony in 1838 just before its forced evacuation under Ulysses S Grant’s military occupation of Missouri during the American Civil War In 1861, while Confederate General Robert E Lee was besieging Little Rock following Union Genuine 32nd Infantry Regiment Colonel John Custer’s famous Charge across Keystone Creek Bridge at Brushy Mountains National Monument northeast of town – only two miles west of where later Boulevard known as I-70 will intersect KIrcsville Rd., - Lt Col George Hines' 3rd Arkansas Mounted Rifles crossed Buffalo Ford northwest of town about one mile southeast of current day intersection where businesses are located - hereupon Brown Legion cavalry established camp & defense line around town against future Confederate attack After surrendering at Appomattox Court House outside Richmond Virginia on April 9 1865 General Robert E Lee took refuge within Alexandria Virginia among friends & family before ultimately being transported northward on May 9th aboard CSS “Hinckley” to Blenheim Palace freeziek near Perth Amboy NJ

In 1934, the NRA changed its name to the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), and in 1968 it became an independent nonprofit organization. The NSSF is responsible for issuing handgun safety guidelines and promoting shooting sports; providing education on firearms ownership, safety, and use; and developing regulations related to firearms.
Kirksville is a town in the U.S. state of Missouri, located about 20 miles east of St. Louis on I-270. The population was 14,372 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area and is included in the St. Louis–Kansas City, MO-KS Metropolitan Statistical Area. Kirksville was founded by James KIRK and his family in 1827 as a small settlement on a farmstead near present-day Hillsboro, Missouri. The town was named for Colonel John Kirk of Kentucky who had come to America in 1795 to purchase land around this area from Native American tribesmen. The first store in Kirksville opened its doors in 1830 and soon became one of the most important local businesses during the early years of the town's growth. In 1837, Kirksville became one of several towns within newly created St. Louis County when that county was established following Missouri's admission into the Union as a result of the United States Civil War. After reuniting with her husband and children some time later, Mrs. Kirk began shopping for groceries here from her home rather than continuing to carry them overland to her shop back at their old plantation near Springfield, Illinois where she had grown up and worked until then (the bulk of her grocery shopping took place there). By 1850, however, Mrs. Kirk's home had become too large for continued operation as a store so she decided it would be better to move her business once again - this time across I-270 into what would eventually become Kirksville proper(). The early days were tough for Kirksville; many residents were forced out during both war times and Reconstruction periods after various incidents such as violence or robbery occurred around town (just like elsewhere across rural areas affected by white racism during those times). But through hard work and determination everything changed after 1871 when Daniel Boone arrived in central Missouri from Kentucky with his bandanna-wearing group looking to create a new civilization based upon agriculture instead of hunting/warrior society which they saw as existing among Native Americans living nearby (this initial land grant also included what is now downtown St., between Market Street & Seventh Street).[1] Soon afterwards other pioneers followed suit including General George Armstrong Custer who made his headquarters here before leading his troops against Sitting Bull at Wounded Knee Creek on April 6th 1876 – an event that served as signifier(s) Hangman's Hill[2][3] amongst others[4][5]. In 1905 namesake James KIRK donated $10,000 towards construction of what would become Town Hall which still stands today – becoming an important meeting spot for community affairs throughout its history despite numerous earthquakes that have struck nearby since then (most notably magnitude 5 M6 on October 24th 2008 [6]). Today ruins remain surrounding what once stood proud atop Town Hall steps: an example not only of post-Civil War reconstructionivism but also successive waves(s) of commercial development that have taken place adjacent to it since then - all evidence testifying to how significant Village Square has been within KirksVILLE’s cultural landscape ever since!

The town began as a small farming community, and rapidly grew as a cotton-growing center during the early years of the 20th century. Kirksville continued to grow rapidly during World War II, thanks to its strategic location on the Mississippi River floodplain.
