These can be found on pistols and rifles as well as some shotguns. A red dot sight allows shooters to see a small image of their target at all times while firing. Variable focus sights work by adjusting how much light is sent towards your target based upon how close you are relative to it (typically 2 meters). This allows you not justTo aim your firearm at any point within 2 meters but also adjusts depending upon what objects or features are between you and your intended victim (i.e., guerrilla warfare scenarios where range limitations may apply). Variable focus sights can be very helpful in accurate shooting situations because they let you adjust fire position without ever having to move your hands from the grip of your weapon!
