Kansas City, Missouri is a city in the midwestern United States and the county seat of Johnson County. The population was 653,973 at the 2010 census. It is sister city to Prague, Czech Republic. The first gun in Kansas City was a flintlock revolver made by George Armstrong Custer in 1876. The first gun show in Kansas City took place on October 8, 1881. At that event, firearms manufacturer John Wesson displayed his new "Patriots" revolvers for sale to customers. In 1886, John Brown & Sons opened its first armory in Kansas City and began producing rifles and shotguns there.
