Gun magazines in Kansas City, Missouri have a very long and storied history. The first magazine to be published in the city was the "Kansas City Star" on October 1, 1875. The paper's founder, James W. Smith, was inspired to start the paper after learning about gun confiscation laws happening in other cities around the country. He wanted to provide information about how people could protect themselves from these regulations. The first issue of "The Kansas City Star" featured an article called "How To Keep Your Gun Safe." This article advocated for people to keep their firearms unloaded and stored away in a secure location. It also urged readers to get training on proper gun handling and storage techniques. Over time, other papers came into existence in Kansas City. The "Kansas City News-Call," which started publication on November 5, 1881; the "Daily Globe," which started publication on December 2, 1886; and finally the "Kansas City Times" were all published until 1923 when it merged with another newspaper, the "Kansas City American." In 1903, Mayor George Armstrong Cass became one of the first mayors of KansasCity and decided that it would be necessary for him to have a city hall with a meeting room specifically designed for holding public meetings. He purchased land at Locust Street and Vine Avenue and started construction on what is now Cass' Hall of Fame Museum (now known as Douglas Adams Convention Center). Mayor Cass named this building after himself because he wanted everyone who visited KCIkansasCity to feel like they were part of downtownKCIcivic life. Once again we see clips-on mags with or without wells located near one another on either side as seen in Figures 1A and 1B respectively This particular design choice was made so that once someone drops their firearm they would quickly be able to grab whatever round(s) were left inside by looking at Figure 2B which shows no well whatsoever
