Kansas City, Missouri is known as the "City of Saints" for its large number of Catholic churches and religious services. The city is also home to a large number of gun shops, which have long been an important part of the local firearms culture. Firearms hat history in Kansas City dates back to 1853 when Captain Amos Earp purchased a hat from Nicholas Hatchery at 4th & Locust Streets. Earp quickly became popular in the city for his colorful hats and was able to help start several small businesses in the area. In 1865, Captain James Wofford purchased a hat from Nicholas Hatchery and began wearing them at various events in the city. After Wofford's death in 1868, his son William took over the business. The family continued to sell hats until 1911 when they merged with Nicholas Hatchery's daughter Lydia's company, Lydian Hats Incorporated. In 1912, Lydian Hats made their debut on Broadway during vaudeville performances and remain one of KCMOs most successful businesses today. Over time,KCMO has become known as the "City of Gunshops". Many famous gun store owners have had their names associated with KCMO including Harry Markham, Bob Smith and Rick Brownell among others. The first firearms stores were opened up in KCMO by early settlers who wanted to purchase guns for protection against Native Americans or other threats encounters along the frontier era settlements (1803-1863). One such store was built by George Armstrong Custer on Main Street near present day Scottrade Center (now First Union Arena). At that time there were no background checks or waiting periods required for purchasing firearms so citizens could easily purchase any type of weapon they desired without fear of being banned or scolded by authorities! KCMO'sgun culture started developing after World War II when manufacturers shifted production towards handguns specifically designed for use within Kansas City metropolitan areas (1939-present). As handgun production increased throughout America during this period, so too did demand for firearms hats on behalf of local residents accustomed to owning only rifles/ shotguns! When he didn't find any other oil fields in Missouri, he decided to build an refinery in Kansas City because it would be easier for people to get their products from him than from other sources. Throughout its history, Kansas City has been a hotbed of gun culture. Many famous shooters have originated here such as James Bowie, John Wilkes Booth, and Jesse James Jr.

Belknap, an American merchant and politician who served as mayor from 1883 to 1889. Some old-time firearm hat designers still make firearms hat styles today, such as the John Deere Hat Company. The origin of the firearm hat is unknown, but it may be trace back to 18th century England where cowboys would often wear cowboy hats to protect them from the sun and sandstorms. In America, the first firearms hat was made by James Fenton in 1792. Fenton designed a military ball cap with a band over the head that could be worn open or closed with a buckle at the back. In 1837, Colonel George Mason introduced his Virginia Rifle Corps into Congress wearing Bullets Overcoats (BOCs). A year later, he created an entire line of clothing for members of Congress called “Mason’s Hats” which featured buckskin fabric trimmed in gold or silver lace and braid, buffalo horn thongs, shawl ribbons around each earring hole, and pistol grip pistols hanging off the sides of their heads. The BOCs were also worn at balls and other public events. By 1846, there were over 100 companies manufacturing firearms hats in America alone! During World War II, some American servicemen opted for blue combat helmets instead of traditional civilian clothes so they could show their patriotism while protecting our country from enemy combatants. Many civilians followed suit by donning blue firearms hats during this time period as well – making it one of the most populariforms for patriotic Americans during wartime (see photo below). This type of firearm hat became increasingly rare after 1945 because ammunition restrictions set in place following World War II led to decreased demand for these types of helmets overall; however, some remain extant today as collector items (like this vintage fedora photographed above). There are several different types of projectiles that can be fired with handguns: revolvers (ejectors), shotguns (shotguns), rifles (rifles), pistols (pistols) and air guns (.22 caliber calibers only). Today’s incarnation of Kansas City has been shaped most significantly by African American residents who began arriving here after World War II – beginning with Butcher Hill/Kensington neighborhood on the east side that formed around King Kong Boulevard before spreading into more recent areas such as Paseo de la Reforma south of Downtown, Midtown East along Denny Reade Street between Seventh and Eighth Streets (formerly known as “The Strip”), swaths near Forest Park on Interstate 70 east side near Speedway Motorsports Park (former home of Topeka Royals baseball team), neighborhoods around University Hospital/ Mercy HealthCare System on Military Road north side just west of I-70 exit 169B (home ground for both men’s professional basketball teams) – all within walking distance or less than one mile from each other – until you reach downtown where businesses had grown too large for individual dwellings or streetcar access made them difficult or impossible to operate profitably outside those core areas without becoming derelict shells overnight…. Today’s boundaries reflect these trends: much older neighborhoods such as Kensington are contained within newer enclaves while Bohemian Grove lies largely untouched beyond Old Town; Midtown East encompasses some square miles formerly occupied solely by North Side neighborhoods northeastof First Street; Downtown contains many historic buildings but no streetcar service limits access so extensive redevelopment has occurred along Second Avenue since 2006 pushing out significant portions of Central Business District Historic District perimeter]); Finally Third Ward remains largely rural unincorporated territory surrounded by urban development
