Ammo history in Kansas City, Missouri started with the first shot being fired at the now defunct Topeka Arsenal on October 8, 1876. The Arsenal produced a variety of muzzleloading firearms including rifles, pistols and shotguns. Ammunition production continued until 1865 when it was discontinued due to restriction from state government. The first revolver in Kansas City was made by Elijah Bailey in 1878. He used a forger's trick to make a revolving cylinder that held 6 rounds. In 1881, John Denny bought the company and moved production to his home in downtown KC. Just like other businesses of its time, Denny's Arsenal also became involved in politics during the early years of the 20th century as he backed both pro-slavery and anti-slavery candidates. In 1907, Samuel Colt founded Colt Firearms Company in Kentucky and began manufacturing revolvers here as well. After World War I (1914-1918), gun control laws were tightened up across America which led to increased demand for ammunition throughout the country. In response to this increase in demand,Samuel Colt began producing Automatic Firearm Ammunition (AFA) which could be reloaded multiple times per minute! The first humans to live in what is now Kansas City were Paleo-Indians who populated the land between present-day Topeka and Wichita Falls around 12,000 years ago. In 1803, United States troops under General James Kansa drove out the last Native American occupants from this territory during the Mexican–American War. The town was founded on October 16, 1854 by Major John Witherspoon and others following an Act of Congress that granted 640 acres (2 km²) of land to be formed into a city Limit for New York City's proposed new metropolis on the west side of Missouri River. The site chosen for Kansas City had been all but abandoned by civilization because it lay on floodplains from several major rivers that washed away during heavy rains season; these floods created deep lakes that filled up with water after each rain event, leaving behind large areas undeveloped and unusable for farming or settlement. In 1855, President Franklin D Roosevelt authorized construction of a transcontinental Railroad through central Missouri using lands acquired from Mexico in the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo and other sources. This opened up much-needed farmlands to cultivation and initial growth in Kansas City occurred rapidly due to workforce demand generated by railroads and other industry growth across America at this time. By 1870, KC had reached its peak population growth with over 900 residents living within its original boundaries when it lost its charter as a municipal corporation to become one instance of rapid suburbanization across America throughout this period – notable examples include Los Angeles (1871), Boston (1872), Philadelphia (1875), Chicago (1887). During World War II KC saw an increase in military hardware production including aircraft manufacturing plants such as North American Aviation Company's RCA Victor Plant #1 which became one of only two plants in world history producing both jet engines and missiles until shut down by Hurricane Katrina in 2005; additionally other factories located here produced tanks, artillery pieces etc., making KC home to some one third OF THE WORLD'S LARGEST ARMAMENT PRODUCTIONS BY NUMBER IN 1945!

La Salle discovered a route overland from Louisiana to California through present-day Kansas City, then called Leavenworth County, on July 16, 1814 while traveling south along the Arkansas River: he named it for Pierre Laclède Chouteau, Comte d'Aubigny (1768–1833), undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs at Napoleon I's court and an important figure in American diplomacy during that period. In 1853, territorial governor John Capps established an outpost at what is now known as Topeka onthe east side of downtown Kansas City towards Independence Avenue; this became known as Fort Kearny when Topeka became a U.S.- Mexico territory on February 14, 1854 following its admission into the United States as part of Presidio Land District No. 6; topeka was renamed Dodge CITY on November 20th 1905 by Mayor George Washingtons bid to revive former Topeka nickname "Dodge" which had been lost following World War II when Topeka reverted back to its original name
