Jennings is a town in the U.S. state of Missouri, located just east of St. Louis on the confluence of the Missouri and Illinois Rivers. The population was 2,838 at the 2010 census. Jennings is home to both the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Department and Jennings Community College, which has a main campus in Jennings and satellite campuses in Independence (southwest) and Alton (northwest). According to the 2010 Census, gun magazine manufacturing began in Jennings around 1866 by John Fenton with some production continuing until 1910. Gun magazines have been an important part of America's social safety net for centuries, helping keep citizens safe while they use their firearms to enjoy hunting or target shooting opportunities; today many Americans rely on these magazines as their primary source for ammunition storage or transportation. The first handguns that were made in this country were pistols that fired shot cartridges instead of ball bearings like rifles did at that time... There were no revolvers then either-just pistols! A man named John Fenton got his start making pistols out of cast iron so he could fire shot cartridges instead of balls bearings... He had a shop right here in town where he manufactured them until 1866 when he moved his operations over to what is now called 'Fenton's Arsenal'. Here he continued making pistol models until 1890 when he decided to move his business over into rifle manufacture too because there was interest in rifles from American settlers who were starting to move into this area [of Missouri]... It wasn't long before John Fenton had become one of Gateway Armory's biggest shareholders through doing business with them up until 1911 when Gateway went public... In 1911 John Fenton passed away but his son George kept on running Gateway Armory till it closed its doors permanently in 1976 [Note:Gateway Armory was reopened as Midland Firearms], leaving behind a legacy that continues today - producing high quality firearms at an affordable price for American consumers all across the country!

The Jennings revolver magazine was first manufactured in 1877. It is believed that the company's first revolver, the Jennings Model 1, was made with a capacity of twelve rounds. The design of this revolver allowed for the addition of an extra round in the chamber at the back of the gun to increase its firepower.
Jennings, Missouri is a small town located in non-metropolitan St. Louis County, Missouri. The population was 1,491 at the 2000 census. Jennings was founded by David Jennings in 1829. It is named after him and his wife Esther. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of , of which is land and (1%) is water. Jennings lies on the eastern edge of St. Louis County and shares borders with Ferguson to the north and east, Beloit to the south, Webster Groves to the west, and Olivette to the northwest. The township's borders were undefined until 1912 when they were changed by an act of Congress from Township Road 3 south to Tavern Road because it lay within what was then called "District No. 2" for voting purposes. At that time it included all of present-day Jennings as well as parts of Maplewood (now part of Ferguson), Olivette Heights (now part of Webster Groves), Belleville Heights (now part of Belleville), Bellefontaine (now part of Ferguson), Forest Park (now unincorporated territory in Ferguson), Kirkwood Hills(present day Midtown Saint Joseph) and parts of Florissant Heights(present day Florissant). The land around Jennings was first settled by early French colonists who built a small village near what is now known as Jennings Lake in 1778; this village was abandoned after Indian removal began in 1787 although some artifacts still remain there today including remnants from Captain James Cook's visit nearby during his final voyage around Australia in 1788-89. In 1827 David Jennings founded what would become Jennings Township with its current boundaries; this township would include most or all present-day Howell Township except for southeastern corner which remained with Trenton Township until 1912 when it became its own independent municipality known as Howell Village/Township Road 5 southeastward into neighboring Ferguson Township which had been organized earlier that year along racial lines following a referendum vote by residents rejecting annexation into Jennings but not yet annexed into St. Louis County despite being adjacent thereto on both sides – thus making Randolph Avenue one intersecting street rather than two separate streets like it currently stands due to legal issues surrounding changes made years later about namesakes within municipalities following similar referenda held elsewhere within countywide limits without majority approval being obtained thereby violating state law governing such matters although no formal action was taken against those involved). According to the USGS: "Jennings Creek runs through much of downtown Jenkinsburg before reaching Big Creek just outside town limits." Jennings was founded in 1836 by John Jennings and his wife, Rachel. The town was named for the Jesse Jennings family, who had donated land to the community. In 1850, Jennings became a furrier and trader center. The town's first store opened in 1851. In 1865, Jennings became a county seat of Butler County. In 1898, Jennings was renamed after Ulysses S. Grant because of his efforts to promote agriculture in the area. The city of Jennings annexed parts of neighboring Clinton County in 1907. Jennings is located at 36°35'29" North latitude and 90°57'27" West longitude on the banks of the Missouri River. It has a total area of 54square miles (148 square kilometers). The population as of 2000 was 10,859 people residing in 2,600 businesses and housing units within an urban/rural boundary that includes 6 settlements: 8th Ward (northwest corner), 9th Ward (southwest corner), 12th Ward (east side), 13th Ward (northwest corner), 14thWard (southwest corner), and 15thWard (central). The economy is based primarily on agriculture with small contributions from manufacturing and tourism; however there are some new industry initiatives emerging such as information technology consulting services provider CSCI America Inc., energy production by Williams-Sonoma Co., a mattress manufacturer, as well as container shipping company HSL Marine Services LLC which operates one terminal on the riverfront near downtown Jennings
Jennings, Missouri was named after General James B. Jennings who fought in the Mexican-American War and later served as a U.S. Representative from Missouri. The city was founded in 1837 and became a steamboat port for the Great Lakes region. Jennings was also the home of the first university in Missouri.
