Today, Springfield Armory still manufactures both handgun and rifle stocks products under their original name-Remington Arms Company- although their main focus now appears to be shotguns! Polk was elected president of the United States, he decided to make Jefferson City his official residence and designated Jackson as his easternmost point on the Mississippi River frontier – an important move given that Missouri would eventually become a state just west of Illinois (he also designated Ft Harrison as its westernmost point). 2 years later on October 15th 1840 our pioneer pioneers arrived at this place after traveling many miles over bad roads full of thorns & briers!
