In 1916, another act were passed by the Missouri General Assembly authorizing establishment of an elementary school withinJackson Township limits; this school was built southeast of present day downtown Jacksonville between 1917 and 1919. In 1922, another act were passed by the Missouri General Assembly authorizing annexation of portions of Pettis County to form Jackson County; this annexation happened on January 1st 1923 however no street or other public infrastructure was created within Jackson County as a result
