A mill opened in Independence in 1830 and quickly became one of the major economic engines of the town during the early 19th century. The town's main street, Main Street, remains an important artery today with many businesses located along its length. In 1838, Independence boasted one of the first water supplies in Missouri when a well was dug near present-day downtown to serve residents' needs for drinking and irrigation purposes. By 1840, Independence had become an important transportation hub with connections to other settlements in nearby counties as well asKansas City and Denver Nuggets basketball games being played at Municipal Stadium on Woodward Avenue across from town hall (now known as KFC Yum! Center). In 1847, Main Street was widened to four lanes wide to accommodate more commerce with new buildings erected along its length including a woolen millinery; leather tanning; a grocery store; two hotels; and three breweries: First National Bank (founded 1865), Peculiar Brewery (1867), and Royal Canadian Brewing Company (1871). The Territorial government disbanded in 1861 following Kansas' admission into statehood which led to increased trade between Kansas City and Independence - both cities grew rapidly thanks to booming tourism industries which continue up until this day due to their close proximity while also maintaining strong cultural ties resulting from shared history & heritage

However, these laws have had mixed results as guns continue to be sold without proper documentation or modification and sometimes with dangerous chemicals hidden inside them. In 2017, a gunman killed 49 people at an El Paso County shooting range before being shot dead by police officers.
