In the town of Grandview, Missouri, there are manyGun Slings and Gun Ranges that date back to the 1860s. One of the earliestgun ranges in this area was established by local farmers in 1871. The original gun range was located on a hill overlooking the town. It consisted of two shooting galleries with 30-round magazines each. The first owner of the range was John Cramer and his son, Daniel Cramer. The second owner of the range was Prentice Henshaw who operated it from 1906-1911. He also built a Shooting Range Hall which still stands today in Grandview. In 1911, Henshaw sold his ownership interest in the range to Frank Wiegand who ran it until 1934 when it became property of the Grandview Rifle Club Incorporated (GRCI). The GRCI continued to operate it as a private club until 1949 when it amalgamated with other rifle ranges across Missouri to formthe National Rifle Association (NRA). NRA later took over management of the GRCI’srange under its current name, “Grand View Rifle & Pistol Club”. This will cause handgun to fire automatically without having to fumble for loading ramp or cocking hammer.

Grandview is a small town in northwest Missouri, United States. The population was 1,753 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. The first settler in what would become Grandview was Johnathon Sumner, who arrived in 1827. He and his wife, Molly, built a cabin on the present site of Grandview Elementary School. A post office called Sumnerville was established in 1828, and remained in operation until 1865. In 1830, George Stephenson founded Grandview Township; it was renamed for General David Dixon after he became governor of Missouri in 1835. In 1847-48, James Kinsley settled at what is now Grandview Cemetery; he also founded the first school there. Kinsley's farm still stands across from the old schoolhouse on Main Street. In 1869-70 Drury built and operated a gristmill on his land south of present day Park Road and east of Maple Drive. The mill continued to be operated until 1938 when it was taken over by the local Rural Telephone Service company which later destroyed it and replaced it with an aluminum factory that still stands today near Interstate 65 just north of town limits (northwest corner). According to one source estimate,[2] up to 100 people may have lived in or around Grandview before wagon trains began arriving during the 1850s carrying goods from Illinois to Kansas City via Missouri River Valleyestablishments such as Osage Bend &Kansas City Railroad Companyand Hannibal & St Louis Railway company: these settlements were clustered along both sides of what is now I-65 approximately two miles east of where I- 55 ends at milepost 244: thus making Grandview one stop along this early road trip corridor between Independence/Overland Park (I-64) and KCMO

Grandview was founded in 1835 by Major General James K. Polk, who named it after his home state of Illinois. The town was named after the then-new county of Grandview, which had been organized in 1834. At its peak, Grandview had a population of over 1,000 people and was one of the largest towns in Missouri. The town declined during the early 1800s as heavy forestation along the Mississippi River reduced available farmland and fishing area became better accessible from larger cities. However, growth resumed during the late 1800s as much of Missouri's agricultural production moved to the state's new ethanol boom and industry began to expand into what is now suburban St. Louis County. The current incarnation of Grandview began to form in 1925 when local businessmen J P Leary and Harry S Truman donated land on which would be built what is now grand VIEW Park (renamed for Truman in 1948). The first park was dedicated on October 11, 1925; it was also at this time that Grandview first achieved international acclaim for its world-class golf courses (the first being President Franklin D Roosevelt's presidential course), boat launches, tennis courts and other recreational amenities. In 1954, while still located within Truman Park boundaries, the city annexed part of neighboring Maplewood; this annexation created what is today known as Downtown Grandview. During World War II, nearby Waverly Heights served as an important Army air base providing critical support for Allied bombers travelling through central Missouri; most notably Operation Crossroads which took place over Waverly Heights on July 22nd 1944; even though heavily damaged by enemy fire resulting in 149 fatalities including Commanding General George C Marshall who described it as "one long inferno", Waverly Heights continued operations until September 1945 once again becoming an important military installation serving both academic research aircraft development testing bomber escort mission pilots role with Air Force Base Bolling AFB nearw St Louis County Airport deptifying Mclntyre AFB -St Lousi
