These rifles were known as the "Washington Model" because they featured a stock that was made from maplewood instead of pine.
Grandview is a town in Cass County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,612 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield, MO–IL Metropolitan Statistical Area. Grandview is located on State Route 60 and the Illinois River. The first settler in what is now Grandview was David Chatman in 1824. He named his land "Chatman's Grove." In 1827, he and his family moved to what is now Cass County from Clay County, Missouri. Chatman laid out a plat for what would become Grandview on May 15, 1829. In 1830-31, George Washington Downing built a log cabin near where present day Grandview sits on the banks of the Illinois River. That same year saw the founding of the Methodist Church in Grandview by Reverend James Whitehead and Revoice Cobbett with assistance from Johnathan Dayton and others including Drury Lewisohn who donated land for that purpose. The first school in town was opened by Ladies Day School Association on October 4th, 1830 taught by Miss Sarah Prentice as part of an education program to help improve conditions for women working outside the home during this time period. This school closed around 1860 due to declining enrollment or lack of funds which led to its eventual demolition several years later when grand new schools were built within walking distance of towncenter (see below). In 1851-52 voters passed an ordinance providing for Eleventh Ward Township government with four commissioners elected directly from local residential districts rather than via staggered voting held every three months like township governments at that time were known; this change vied with similar but more serious changes proposed later ballot measures approved by state legislators abolishing township governments altogether effective January 1st following passage of Act No 14 (1851) – both ordinances becoming law without any public discussion or debate as it had been specifically authorized by act passeds concurrent with Act No 14 & much anticipated as such – thus effectively disbanding all township governments statewide & making Adjournments aggrandize already burgeoning sovereign self governing entities? This effectively dealt another significant blow to self reliant grass roots efforts atGOVERNMENT instituted over preceding decade or so throughout state legislatures across country pitting rural against urban residents seeking increasingly exclusive control over their lives & property’s resources viewed increasingly as threats not only to individual liberty but also national security

Grandview is a town in Truman County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,698 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield, MO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was organized on April 12, 1838, by order of the Territorial Congress. The first post office in Grandview was established on July 20, 1839. On December 2, 1840, Grandview became a part of the newly created Kansas Territory and had its own government until it was admitted to the Union as a state on August 14th of that year. In 1851-1852, Groveland railroads were built through Grandview and other towns in western Truman County; this increased commerce and development in those areas. In 1861-1862 during the American Civil War (the war for slavery), much of central Missouri was under Confederate control and many residents fled to Grandview for protection; however most residents returned home by 1865 when Union forces moved into Missouri after winning the war. The Great Western Railroad came through town in 1868 and helped spur more industry and business growth throughout these years; while also bringing new people into town who also helped increase population numbers over time as well as setting off fires that destroyed many homes during these years caused by uncontrolled fires which often destroyed entire neighborhoods within months or weeks due to lack of fire insurance back then! Most recently since 2006-2007 there has been an effort started called "Growth Unlimited" which is all about making sure that businesses not only thrive but are able to keep up with changed needs such as population growth rates etc.; so that businesses can continue creating jobs for locals along with providing quality products/services!
The first settlers in the area that is now Grandview, Missouri were James and Sarah Ferguson. They arrived in 1836 and started a farm which they named "Ferguson." The first post office was established at this location in 1839. In 1861, the town of Grandview was founded by the merger of two other towns, Harper's Ferry and Ellsworth. By 1865, Grandview had a population of 100 residents. In 1880, an irrigation system was completed which allowed for growth in the town. The real estate market began to grow during this time and by 1890, there were over 200 residences in Grandview. The economy changed during World War II as many people moved to service jobs in the munitions manufacturing industry. After the war ended, more people moved into the town because of its high quality schools and businesses. By 1990, GrandVIEW had a population of over 1,000 residents
