Grain Valley, Mo., is a small town located in the eastern part of the state of Missouri. It was founded in 1836 by John Riggins and his family. Grain Valley is home to several local businesses, including a feed mill, an ammunition factory, and a rifle range. The local paper, The Grain Valley Gazette, was founded in 1876. The early Ammunition industry in Grain Valley began with the founders of the town. John Riggins had come from Lancaster County, Pa., to start a flour mill and found that there were no markets for his flour in Illinois. He decided to move his business to Grain Valley so that he could sell his flour and bullets at same time. With this new venture (and others like it), Riggins helped lay the foundation for what would become one of Missouri's leading industries: Ammunition production. In 1861, when Missouri seceded from the United States and became an independent country, Ammunitionproduction expanded rapidly within its borders due to national political changes that favored Confederate arms over Union arms. While much of the Ammo production occurred outside of Grain Valley during this time period (due to government regulations), some munitions companies did establish themselves within the town; notably Purdey & Sons ammunition company which manufactured cannons for both Union and Confederate forces during the American Civil War. After our nation's defeat in World War I Armaments production plummeted across America as shooters turned away from using firearms as their main form of self-defense because they were too dangerous without powerful rounds capable of hurting large numbers of people 500 yards away or more! However things have begun to change again now that we have more interest from both sides in buying/using firearms for protection purposes only! Many law enforcement agencies are now purchasing rifles specifically designed for close quarters combat encounters or even just personal defense... ammo still remains an important factor however it may not be as popular with many consumers today!

The community began as a pioneer settlement near the present-day city of Springfield and was named for John Witherspoon, one of the early settlers. Grain Valley first known as a rural area with few businesses because there were no roads in those days and people had to bring their goods by wagon or horseback across country. In 1854, local farmers met at a church meeting to establish a grain elevator so they could sell their crop directly to consumers instead of having to go through traders or merchants. That same year, pioneer James Huffman founded what would become Huffman's Store in Grain Valley and it served as the nucleus around which other businesses developed over time such as J.W.'s Bakery, H&H Hardware & More, Tommy's Restaurant and many more! As residents gradually adopted transportation methods other than walking or wagons to get their groceries from farm to house (railroads came along later), they started referring to themselves as "Grain Valleys." By 1870, Grain Valley had several stores and about 100 inhabitants! In 1875, Tommy's opened up its second store which became known locally for its great George Washington baked goods! However, things changed dramatically during World War I when many farmers lost their homes in war-torn France and returned home with little food or marketable assets left behind. This created an immediate rush on cereal prices which caused most small businessmen throughout Missouri including Grain Valley to collapse within months! Not long after that however some new businessmen emerged who managed not only To keep things going but also developed many new products including corn dogs (now considered an American classic) and ice cream cones! What followed are decades of growth for this vibrant community - now home to more than 2200 residents enjoying easy access to quality education opportunities (including excellent private schools), delicious regional cuisine (courtesy of numerous restaurants), thriving retail sectors including several large grocery stores including JW's Bakery & Hardware where locals still purchase high-quality produce from local farms every weeknight!), awesome mountain views from surrounding neighborhoods while experiencing world class shopping malls just minutes away via public transportation – everything you could want/need while living in moderation :-)

It was built in 1924 and functions as a commercial business today.
In 1827, the first corn crop in Grain Valley was planted. The name Grain Valley was given to the community by General James K. Polk because of its location on a grain elevator that delivered supplies to his army at the Battle of Buena Vista. In 1907, Grain Valley had a population of 1,500 people and it was known for its cheese production.
