In Gladstone, Missouri, the first firearms were used in a civil war on July 6, 1861. The conflict in Missouri was fought between the Union and Confederate forces. The Confederate forces had acquired arms from slavery-based businesses and individuals in order to fight against the United States government. On July 6th, 1861, violence erupted after an Bannon's store owner refused to sell a Confederate soldier ammunition. A gunfight ensued which ended with three Union soldiers dead and fifteen wounded. This event is also known as the "Gladstone Massacre." On October 24th, 1872, James Fenton opened Fenton's Firearms Emporium on Main Street in Gladstone. The shop was designed to provide customers with quality firearms at affordable prices. At that time, firearms were not readily available to civilians in America due to limited regulations placed upon them by the government. From his business premises, Fenton offered customers access to handguns and rifles for purchase or rent from local gunsmiths. In addition to firearms sales, Fenton operated a blacksmith shop where he made alloys for handguns and otherweapons. In 1875, he also opened a bakery which served as his primary source of income during this time period. He died on December 5th due to complications from tuberculosis at the age of 72 years old. The Gladstone Armory was built in 1949 by John Witherspoon III within walking distance of Fenton's Firearms Emporium. It is one of only two armories remaining standing today in America that are dedicated solely to providing firearms services instead of retail sales or rental opportunities (the other being Fort Worth Arsenal). After World War II ended and restrictions onfirearms were relaxed by both political parties following recommendations from Congresswoman Louise Slaughter (D-NY), many Americans turned their attention towards purchasing more personal weapons rather than renting them from local gunsmiths or storage facilities like those located near Times Square following World War II boom period (+20% growth). As demand for pistols increased across society (+5% annually since 1976), so too did production rates leading armories like Witherspoon Armory into over capacity situations often resulting in long lines outside their doors when shooting sessions commenced...leading some shooters who attended these events into outright anger! Today’s Gladstonians enjoy access not just to high-quality personal weapons but also shotguns/shotguns chambered for multiple rounds(12gauge)and rifle calibers(7mm Winchester Magnum etc.), revolvers & pistols(9mm Luger etc.), Tasers/Taser ammo(especially useable off duty), dog training supplies (including choketers), handcuffs & hog ties...as well as much more!

Gladstone, Missouri is a small town in the U.S. state of Missouri. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. Gladstone is located on the eastern edge of the Ozarks and bordered by Interstate 44 to the north, US 64 to the east, and Jacksboro Road to the south. It is one of twelve townships in Stearns County. Gladstone was named for Sir John Gladstone, an English statesman who served as British Prime Minister from 1809-1812 and 1815-1820. The area that now makes up Gladstone was first settled by Native Americans in 1778 when French traders arrived on the Illinois River. By 1821, most of present day Gladstone had been surveyed and mapped out by surveyor George Rogers Clark. In 1832, Missouri Territory was organized into what would become Stearns County after Territorial Governor James Kapp approved a request from General David Hunter to create six counties in central Missouri with jurisdiction over all of northeast Kansas and west Texas (including present Day Wichita Falls). The area around Gladstone became part of this new county. By 1840, when it was apportioned among Kansas counties according to their population totals at that time, Gladstonian had grown sufficiently large enough that a post office had been established there (renamed "Gladestone" in 1860). In 1865, following Civil War hostilities in nearbyKansas Cityand Fort Worththe Union military burned much of what remained of Gadsden County including much of present day Gladstonian along with other Unionist strongholds across centralMissouri; this event is generally seen as one factor leading to Reconstruction in America which began more than two decades later here in Missouri
