Fulton is a town in Fulton County, Missouri, United States. The population was 2,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the St. Louis metropolitan area. The name comes from French for "the harbor". The town was founded in 1857 by John C. Fremont and other early settlers as a stop on the road between St. Louis and Independence, Missouri. In 1881, it became the county seat of Fulton County after it was moved from Independence to what is now Fulton. The town's first courthouse was built in 1857 and replaced an earlier structure that had been destroyed by fire. That courthouse is still standing and is used as a museum today. A new courthouse was built in 1916 and remains in use today as the only court building in Fulton County that has not been lost or replaced since its construction (the old courthouse also serves as a history museum). In 1881, due to the Increased railway traffic through Fulton County, the Board of Commissioners voted to move the county seat from Independence to nearby Saint Peters Township due to concerns about additional congestion on Route 66 south of Saint Peters Township. The decision proved unpopular with many residents who saw their neighborhood disappear while others enjoyed increased access to government services at their new location." This move allowed for more development within what would become known as "FultonGate" – an upscale district surrounding downtown which developed rapidly during this time period thanks largely to subsidies provided by then-Governor Roscoe Bartlett IV (). Bartlett also contributed $5 million towards infrastructure projects in Fulton County during his six terms as governor from 1978-1986."

holster history in Fulton, Missouri starts with the early days of pistols. In 1837, a man named Elijah Cook made the first handgun in Fulton. He designed and built a revolver using an old stock of cannon ball ammo. This pistol was called the "Cook Rifle." Cook selling his pistols to local militaries and law enforcement. By 1841, there were over 20 handguns being manufactured in Fulton. The following year saw the opening of a gun store by G W Fenton which became one of the most popular firearms stores in town. In 1845, Lieutenant Colonel Isaac Stroud bought a share in Fenton's store and began manufacturing rifles and shotguns as well as handguns in addition to ammunition. The following year saw another contribution from G W Fenton when he opened up his own firearm shop which became known as 'Fulton Arms'. In 1848, General John Browning came to Fulton to survey the area for possible new sites for gun factory production. At this time, guns were being produced at three different locations; Springfield Armory on Main Street, Fort Smith Arsenal on Union Avenue, and Wilmot Arsenal on North Union Avenue. It is believed that General Browning visited all three locations before making his decision on where to place his new factory(s). On November 1st of that year, General Browning arrived in town with 10 cannons and ordered all handguns be registered with him within 24 hours or face prosecution! This order led to the birth of the National Firearms Act of 1934 which regulated handgun ownership across America

Fulton was founded in 1836 and named for General James K. Polk, who helped negotiate the Louisiana Purchase in 1803. Fulton is located at (39.719642, -96.868519). According to the 2010 census, Fulton has a total area of , of which (or 98%) is land and (or 2% is water). As of the census of 2000, there were 1,074 people, 546 households, and 388 families residing in the town. The population density was 377 people per square mile (153/km²). There were 624 housing units at an average density of 214 per square mile (89/km²). The racial makeup of Fulton was 97% White; 0% African American; 0% Native American; 0% Asian; 1% from other races; and 2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3% of the population

Fulton was a small town in north-central Missouri and the seat of Fulton County. The community was founded in 1836 by two brothers, James and John Fulton. The original Adobe Building still stands as a reminder of the town's early days. In 1855, the town was renamed after General Nathan Bedford Forrest during the American Civil War. After being destroyed by fire in 1892, Fulton re-emerged as a small farming village until it disappeared from history altogether in the 1930s. Today, Fulton is located less than an hour east of Kansas City on I-435. The population of the village reached just over 100 residents in 2010, but has since decreased to about 50 residents today. A number of businesses are headquartered within the limits of Fulton Village including Johnson's Hardware and Merchant Tailors, Tim Horton's Cafe, and Parsonage Academy which offers primary and secondary education programs for students between 6th through 12th grades.
