Florissant, Missouri is a small city in Kansas County, Missouri. It was founded in 1831 by Jean Baptiste Florissant and his family. The population was 1,787 at the 2010 census. The town was named for Florissant's birthplace in France. Florissant is located on the Kansas River and is part of the Topeka–Edinburg Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city has a total area of , of which is land and is water. The first settler in Florissant was Jean Baptiste Florissant, who built a cabin on the banks of the river in 1831. In 1835, he bought 640 acres (240 ha) of land from James Hance for $5 per acre. He founded what would become the town of Florissant on this land. In 1840, David Vail came to Florissant from St Louis and bought an interest inFlorissan Wagon Road Company. Vail ran this company to develop Route 66 out of town along the river through what would later be called Northside Township and into central Kansas County. His business failed but he left some money behind that helped start courtroom construction between downtown Topeka and Elk Grove Village while he developed his new farmstead near present-day Wichita Falls, Texas (now Wichita). In 1850, John Fenton purchased 640 acres (240 ha) from David Vail for $10 per acre; this site became Fentonville today. In 1861, Jno Jourdain started building a large flour mill on nearby White Sands Creek; it now stands as one of Missourian's most iconic tourist attractions - see also "Jourdain Mill". Lord Byron acquired 640 acres (240 ha) adjoining Fentonville about 2 miles eastward from present day FlorissANTon just south of I-435 exit #388A off I-435 northbound concurrent with Ulysses S Grant Boulevard/Ulysses S Grant Parkway/Kansas Highway 169 eastbound during their visit there to inspect military installations during World War II Though much smaller than other American towns established during the early 19th century such as Philadelphia or Hartford Connecticut (), due to its location beside one of America’s great rivers – specifically the Missouri River –FlorISSANTon grew rapidly due to its strategic location within easy reach both by wagon road travelers seeking access to central Kansas County as well as traders travelling downriver who diverted traffic onto US 6 leading directly into Topeka across Four Mile Creek whereupon they could continue traveling northwestward via US 68 through Rock Springs before turning southeast onto KS 169 towards Wichita Falls thereby bypassing most major cities along their route thereby allowing travel time necessary for goods transportation purposes without having to worry about being followed or bottlenecked by larger settlements situated nearer commercial centers

The Japanese swordsmiths who created these iconic knives were able to utilize new technologies that had been imported from China during the Kamakura period (1185-1305). These new technologies include the Ichi Shira blade saw which allowed them to produce high-quality Samurai swords with precision cuts; and the Shinto god sword which allowed samurai to transfer religious beliefs onto their swords directly. The popularity of samurai armor led to an increase in demand for weapons, which in turn led to more development of knife technology. During World War II, many American soldiers were equipped with automatic pistols that required them to carry separate handguns and knives as part of their carrying gear. This necessitated the development of sidearms such as revolvers or shotguns that could be easily carried without taking up valuable space on someone’s person. As a result, civilian populations became increasingly reliant on professional military firearms such as pistols instead of traditional kitchen tools like daggers or spears for self-defense reasons. This shift ultimately resulted in increased Knife violence rates across Europe due to misconceptions about edged weapons being just as deadly as firearms - leading civilians who didn't know any better armed robbers and assassins with greater impunity than they would have if they had access only to traditional kitchen tools

Florissant is a town in St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. The population was 3,815 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Saint Louis Metropolitan Area. The first settlers in Florissant were Irish immigrants who arrived on the "Dundalk" ship in 1814. They built a log cabin and named their settlement after Florissant, County Clare, Ireland. Another group of Irish immigrants settled here around 1832 and called their community "Farrellsville." In 1830, John Farrell bought 100 acres (40 ha) of land east of Florissant from Isaac Beavers for $100 cash. He built a small cabin there and began raising cattle and hogs which he sold to farmers in surrounding counties. By 1840, Farrell's farm had reached 500 acres (200 ha). In 1847, James Fenton purchased 200 acres (80 ha) of land northwest of Florissant from Farrell for $200 cash. He also beganraising cattle and hogs there. Fenton named his new community "Fentonville." In 1850 Census records show that Fentonville had a population of 150 people; it grew to 220 by 1860 when he acquired another 100 acres (40 ha). The first post office in Florissant was established in 1849 by Jno Pinkney with the name "Farrellsburg." In 1860, it was renamed "Florissant." The first store opened here in 1865 by Wm Higginson with goods brought overland from Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania via Illinois Route 6th Street.. The present-day shopping center opened its doors on December 15th 1988 as part of an overall redevelopment project for area businesses including several anchor stores such as Macy's Department Store and Sears Roebuck & Co.. In 1870 Census records show that William Higgs had moved to Florissant from Independence Township where he owned 400 acres (160 ha). There are two posts associated with this name: one located west side of US Highway 52 near Bush Road and the other northeast side off I-635 between Whitehall Rd./Route 66/US Highways 64/63 about 1 mile south of current day intersection with Busch Rd./Hwy 20/. This second post office closed circa 1935 along with most other municipalities within StL MO due to budget cuts during World War II.. A local legend has it that when General Douglas MacArthur toured the area postwar he ordered all military supplies taken down Main Street because many residents were working local farms producing munitions!

The city experienced some setbacks during World War I and II but has slowly regained its former prominence since then.
