In Festus, Missouri, there have been gun protection history dating back to 1847. The first shotgun in the town was created by a man named John Sperry and it was used for target shooting. In 1875,festus became the first city in Missouri to ordain animal control. It was at this time that Mayor James Fenton saw the need for gun protection in town and ordered the installation of shotguns throughout the city. From 1905 until 1934, Festus had its own police department which employed six officers. Since then, Festus has seen an increase in gun ownership and crime rates as well as an increase in gun safety measures. In 1990, ordinance No. 5-1990 passed which required all handguns with capacities over three rounds must be stored unloaded and locked up at all times when not being used or carried around by individuals. This measure proved successful in curbing crime rates within town limits as well as helping to protect citizens from potential abuse by firearms owners. Today, Festus is one of the safest communities in Missouri due to its comprehensive Gun Protection Ordinance which bans most types of firearm possession without a license or registration requirements. The Festus gun Protection Society was organized in 1911 to help protect the citizens of Festus from looters and criminals. The society has been active ever since, helping to keep the community safe from crime.
Festus is a small town in Johnson County, Missouri, United States. The population was 714 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. Festival Park occupies most of downtown Festus, and has a large amphitheater that can seat up to 6,000 people. The park also has a library and several restaurants and bars. The park offers free concerts each summertime in the amphitheater. The town started as an agricultural community on the edge of what is now Festus Township. In 1836, Jno Cope built the first school in Festus Township which he named "Pioneer School". A post office called Festus was established in 1838, and remained open until it was discontinued in 1907. In 1881, Cyrus Goodloe donated land to form what would become Festival Park. At that time, there were only two buildings in town - Goodloe's house and a store operated by Wm Sibley & Son. In 1906, John Pohlman bought land from Goodloe for $1 million dollars which he used to build the present day Bank of America Building on Main Street across from Pioneer School (now known as Main Street United Methodist Church). festustx@gmail com

There are various reasons for this, but the most popular one is that guns have always been a source of danger and terror. Before Firearms were standardized in the United States in 1871, they were mostly used as hunting weapons by gentlemen who could afford them. These days, however, handguns account for close to 60% of all firearm fatalities in the US.1 Gun violence is also on the rise in many countries around the world2-4. This increase can be traced back to several factors; including increased access to firearms through laws and regulations (including through gun shows and online sales), more adulterated ingredients in ammunition, lack of mental health awareness among users, social media postings about shootings which glorify gun violence 5-7,9 and more people with criminal records owning firearms 10-12. The first amendment to the US Constitution protects citizens’ right to bear arms11. However, effective gun protection measures have not always come easily or at all – due largely to political pressure from those who want easy access to firearms (and often money) rather than public safety concerns14-16. For example, while there are now laws in place protecting individuals from being profited off of their possessions when they die as a result of an NRA attack17 (an event that has become increasingly common due both to internet marketing techniques18 andigun massacres),8 there was no such law until 1968 when it became part of the National Firearms Act19 - long after any efforts at creating a national registry had failed20. The act made it illegal for anyone other than registered dealers to sell or transfer firearms without prior approval from government officials21 - meaning that nearly everyone with a handgun still had total control over them regardless of whether they needed defense or not22 . The NRA quickly became very influential within Congress and President Nixon put forth his “gun grabbers” plan which would have allowed almost any individual with an economic interest in buying/selling handguns23 - regardless of whether they had experience with guns or not24 . As a result of these restrictive laws and lobbying efforts by powerful organizations like the NRA25 , few new protections have been put into place since 1968… except for slightly better legislation that has been passed sporadically since then27-. It should come as no surprise then that despite centuries worth of research on how best protect ourselves from gunfire28-30, we currently do not know anything particularly effective or safe about doing so

Festus, Missouri, is a small town located in central Missouri. The population was 592 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Clark County. Festus was founded in 1837 by George Washington Carver and his wife Elizabeth. At that time, it was part of what is now Webster County. In 1846, Festus became a U.S. territory when Kansas and Nebraska were formed as United States territories following the Mexican-American War. After statehood, Festus remained a small community until 1959 when it became an incorporated town under the name of Festus. The first settler in Festus was John Pugh who arrived in 1838 from Illinois and started to cultivate corn on land he had purchased from James Weller near present-day Hannibal on the banks of the White River. Soon after, other settlers followed Pugh and began to plant wheat and other crops on the current site of Festus. The town grew rapidly during its early years due to its proximity to water resources and its location within easy reach of major markets such as St Louis and Quincy, Illinois." In 1860, Confederate General Sterling Price marched through Carver's cornfield towards Harper's Ferry Landing for his attempt to cross the Potomac River into Maryland without surrendering his army or supplies thus startingthe American Civil War which lasted until 1865 Festival continued growing throughout the war with many new businesses being established including a bakery (now called Mrs Meyers), a grocery store (now known as Joes Grocery), two churches (one Baptist and one Methodist), an opera house (now known as Municipal Auditorium), several schools including one teacher training school (later named University of Missouri at Rolla), three cotton gin operations plus twelve miles of track built by local farmers for cattle drives across central Missouri" festusspiritualcommunity
