Festus, Missouri is a small town located in northwest Arkansas. It was founded in 1881 by John A. Festus and his family. The town has a population of about 2,500 people today. John A. Festus originally came from Germany to the United States in 1847. He settled in what is now Festus, Missouri on the banks of the Arkansas River.
