There are also a few scattered family farms that provide produce for local grocery stores. One important aspect that sets Ferguson apart from other small towns is its lack of any major institutions or attractions that draw people away from their communities such as shopping malls or amusement park areas like those found near larger cities like St Louis or Kansas City.
