The vote effectively closed off any potential annexation attempt by Ferguson because it did not have majority support from its citizens living within Confederate territory at that time (still today there are no buildings located within Confederate boundaries which makes annexation efforts almost impossible without gaining approval from those living inside Confederate borders)). In 1915, when Florissant–Ferguson merger occurred due largely to pressure from then Mayor James Knowles – two referenda were held in both municipalities seeking voter approval for whether or not streets should remain named after former mayors/council members who had served previously: One asking if street names should be kept unchanged since they had been given out freely during earlier mergers while another asking if any streets should continue being named after deceased individuals such as Mayor Orville Freeman since these names continued appearing on maps even though their deaths had taken place long before their township incorporation). A total vote results showed 75% yes in favor of keeping streetnames while 25% no which means that 15% of the population responded in favor of including streetnames honoring deceased individuals while 55% responded against adding any additional names thereto given how important those individuals remained relative to townspeople overall!
