In 1854, when Kansas Territory was organized as a result of Mexican American War efforts to gain territory for Mexican Americans west of Mexico City*, Fayetteville Township too voted to join Territorial Kansas but chose not to secede due to its close proximity to Springfield – then only an agricultural center – whileamasstedly voting against joining forces with Kansas Territory which would have included much more centrally located Lawrenceburg* which also voted against annexation into Kansas Territory.* When Nebraska Territory was organized following America's entry into World War I on April 4th 1917 via Executive Order 9808*, most residents within its boundaries decided not to join because they felt their political rights would be better served within Iowa Territory which already contained Des Moines* as well as Omaha*. However*, several residents within Nebraska’s capital city Lincoln opted out due to worries about possible encroachments onto their home turf by what they saw as burgeoning farming communities encroaching upon their residential areas.* On January 27th 1919*, by order of President Woodrow Wilson*, all states east of Iowa† were granted statehood† including Nebraska & it wasn’t until November 6th 1969** when Nebraska finally became a †state‡ according to the Admission Act Of 1959 (Public Law 86–622). In addition*, Indian reservations east OF Lakota Sioux Nation were also added along with numerous smaller reservations throughout eastern Terry County† making up the final portion *of* Dakota State *. The state has since experienced rapid growth due both To large numbers military installations & overall competition for jobs from neighboring states both rural & urban alike!
