Today, Crestwood consists mostly of single-family homes dating back to the late 19th century with only a few businesses remaining from that time period including A & P grocery store which closed circa 2009; Coca Cola Refreshment Depot which opened in 1954; and The Meadows Nursery School which opened in 1951 adjacent to Dent's restaurant/bar on Main Street serving refreshments until it closed circa 2006 due to redevelopment within walking distance along both sides of Main Street - making it one of last quick-service restaurants open around here! A number of other businesses have since popped up within or nearby CrestWOOD such as Restoration Hardware (now Home Depot), PetsMart and Barnes & Noble; but they are all decidedly primary residences rather than retailers or services providers typical associated with smaller towns like ours - something that really sets us apart from our counterparts East Coast transplants! In recent years there has been some development going on adjacent to Dent's restaurant/bar including renovations undertaken at an apartment complex formerly occupied by slackkey bandshell operator Rascal Flatts called "The Gables" followed by new construction beginning earlier this year on what will eventually become known as "The Commons" consisting primarily of two large lots totaling over 85 feet² (roughly 10 acres) fronting Main Street containing multiple indoor sporting events venues (including a full size gymnasium), commercial uses including 3 multiplexes cinema complexes with 2 screens each recently leased out for movie exhibitors exhibiting their product(s); all embedded into landscaped gardens complete with809 trees planted throughout!!! Finally - just across from "The Commons", we've been working hard on constructing our first ever municipal building!!!!

Crestwood is a small town in the Ozarks of Missouri. It was founded in 1864 by Olin C. Bird and his wife, Eliza A. Bird, on a tract of land that they purchased from the military. The townsite grew rapidly after it was designated as an agricultural fairgrounds site in 1868. Crestwood became an incorporated village in 1904 and became a city in 1957. During World War II, Crestwood played a major role as one of the largest supplies centers for the U.S. military and its allies. As a result of its strategic location, Crestwood has been called "the most important town in Missouri". The original crest wood tree (Quercus robur) that stands today near the intersection of Broadway and Maple Streets was donated to Crestwood by Mrs. Bird in 1958 after her husband's death at the age of 92 years old. The Birches School reopened on October 1, 1959 following reconstruction following damage caused by tornado damage three years earlier during another outbreak of severe weather in Missouri known as "The Great Chicago Storm". In 1984, crestwood Elementary School also reopened following restoration efforts which were led by Mr. and Mrs. John Carpenter III who had moved to Crestwood from their home near Independence MO just prior to that year's storm system striking this area which destroyed many homes and businesses along with extensive crop damage including loss of life orBIG LOSSES TO BUSINESSES IN CRESTWOOD-OVER $100 MILLION IN COST OF THE REPAIRS
Crestwood, Missouri is a town in Clay County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. The town was founded in 1868 and named for Crestwood Hill outside of St. Louis. The first post office in Crestwood was established in 1873. The first store in Crestwood was opened by Wm. Dickey in 1875. In 1907, the crest wood sawmill closed due to financial difficulties and declined thereafter to produce any lumber until it reopened as the Arboretum Lumber Mill on Railroad Road in 1959.
