Crestwood, Missouri is a small town located in the Ozarks of south-central Missouri. It is known for its gun barrels and other firearmsrelated items, including shotguns and pistols. The first guns in Crestwood were likely rifles or muzzleloaders. By 1854, there were at least six gunsmiths in the community and several rifle and shotgun companies. However, it was not until 1875 that the first handgun was made in Crestwood. That year, two brothers named John Fenton opened a shop called The Gunsmith Shop on Main Street. From that point forward, Crestwood became an important center for handguns production in southern Missouri. The most famous handgun producer in Crestwood was Henry Repeating Arms Company (HRAC). HRAC produced some of the earliest assault rifles and pistols in the area, as well as many other firearmsincluding shotgunsand revolvers. The company also manufactured large numbers of handguns such as revolvers and semi-automatic pistols throughout the late 1800s and early 1900s. In fact, HRAC is one of only a fewgunmakers remaining from that time period still manufacturing firearms today. Today, both HRAC's old building on Main Street and their new facility on Cumberland Avenue are open tothe public as museum exhibits commemorating the history of handguns in Crestwood

After spending time at Crestwood, McNeely offered to buy the town from its original owners for $5200 dollars. Crestwood quickly became a prosperous community thanks to McNeely's generosity and hard work. Over the years, he has made numerous donations to various causes throughout Crestwood, including funding the local public library and school systems as well as setting up several playgrounds and libraries across the city limits. Today, there are over 100 businesses located within walking distance of each other in downtown Crestwick! Many of these businesses have continued to thrive even during tough economic times - witness recent renovations happening inside much-loved CenturyLink Field! It is clear that Alexander McNeely's vision for Crestwood - where everyone could prosper regardless of their background orfortune - lives on still today.
Crestwood was founded in 1825 by General James Wilkinson and his wife, Rachel. Crestwood is the oldest village in Missouri. The town was named after a hill in Delaware County that stands high enough to see the surrounding countryside. In 1846, the town had population of 204 and built its first school.
