From firearms to grenades, ammunition has played an important role in local History and culture. The first steps in Ammunition History can be traced back to 1822 when Daniel Boone and his group of men explored what is now Crestwood on their survey of the area. They discovered a natural gas field and began selling gasolina from their discovery. This early Ammunition History was based on trade with other communities in the region. In 1827, John Smeaton founded a blacksmith shop in Crestwood which became one of the most successful businesses in town. Smeaton was a key player in developing both Rifle Shooting Competition matches and supplying ammunition to local militias during the American Revolution. In 1855, JH & Sons purchased the blacksmith business from Mr. Smeaton and continued operations as JH & Sons Blacksmiths until 1945. During this time period, they produced over 100 different types of firearms including shotguns, rifles, pistols, revolvers and more! In 1957, Crestwood joined neighboring towns Moberly and Florissant together as The Village of Crestwood under the leadership of Mayor Wanda Bechtel-Jones. Since then, The Village’s mission has been to support economic development within its borders through such activities as arts & crafts shopping/bargain hunting/fishing/camping/petsitting etc., educational opportunities for children (K-12), wellness services (spas & massage facials), environmental programming (a farmers market), social networking (Facebook page)and more! Today The Village continues to serve as a catalyst for positive change within its community by providing access to resources that make our town special while promoting healthy living practices!

In 1903, the company moved to Seventh Street and it continued to be called Crestwood Ammunition Company until 1937 when it changed its name to Armoury-Munitions Incorporated. In 1957, Armoury-Munitions Incorporated merged with Winchester Repeating Arms Company to form Winchester Rifle & Pistol Corporation.
Crestwood, Missouri is a town located in the Ozarks of northwest Missouri. The population was 2,363 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield-Branson Metropolitan Statistical Area. Crestwood was organized as a town on November 3, 1871, from parts of Decatur and Jackson Counties. The town name comes from the crest that rises above the downtown business district; it is also said to be derived from an Indian word meaning "prominence." The first post office in Crestwood was established in 1872. At its peak in 1900, Crestwood had a population of 527 people. The city of Springfield annexed Crestwood on October 1, 1907. One early resident of Crestwood was James Matson who arrived there with his family in 1873. He started a furniture store and later became one of the founders and directors of the Central Illinois Railroad (CIR). Matson served as mayor of Crestwood from 1904 to 1912 and as county treasurer from 1907 to 1916. In addition to his civic roles, Matson also played an important role in banking and insurance circles in central Missouri during this time period. In 1896 Gertrude Aiken opened her grocery store at 680 N Main Street which remains one of commercial corridors for education within town today - specifically for young children's programming offered by various religious denominations through local churches throughout the day

The town of Crestwood, Missouri is located in the county of Buchanan and has a population of around 100. The history of Crestwood dates back to 1839 when two brothers, Elijah and John Brownell founded the town on a tract of land that they had purchased from the St. Louis government. Today, Crestwood is an agricultural community with cattle ranching as its primary industry. Crestwood was originally named for the Forrest trees which were common in the area at the time. The first post office was established in 1838, and by 1850, Crestwood had a population of 10 people. By 1860, Crestwood had grown to 25 people and by 1870 it had reached 50 people. In 1876, though, one of Elijah Brownell's sons died leaving behind assets that were used to finance his father's new business venture- a flour mill. In 1907, crest wood became an incorporated municipality with a population of 150 people. It would stay this way until 1933 when it was annexed by Buchanan County. In 1934, Buchanan County passed a resolution creating what would become known as "Crestwood Mall", which would house various businesses within the town boundaries including a grocery store and bank. The mall continued to be operational until it closed down in 1984 after becoming outdated and uneconomical for the community centerpurpose(s). Today, there are no active commercial activities taking place within Crestwood proper; however there are several small businesses located throughout the village periphery which continue to operate despite not having any major retail presence within their own neighborhoods or circles of influence (e.g., Owney's Bakery). This situation began changing shortly after 2000 when Crestwoods (along with most other villages) experienced significant growth due largely to investment totaling over $100 million Dollars from four large developers- Allianz American Insurance Company (AIG), Microsoft Corporation ('Microsoft'), Motorola Mobility Holdings Incorporated ('Motorola'), and Jacobs Group Incorporated ('Jacobs'). These investments led to increased employment opportunities for locals as well as some renovations/updates/replacements necessary for their infrastructure such as streetscape work that took place between 2003-2005; all while also providing much needed tax revenue for local coffers through property taxes levied on these properties inside or outside of town limits!
Crestwood was laid out in 1832 by the Campbell family. It became a town in 1849, when the Missouri Pacific Railroad arrived and built its depot here. Crestwood prospered as a small community until the 1930s, when it lost its rail connection and fell into decline. However, over the past few decades, various businesses and organizations have resurrected Crestwood as a vibrant community with several cultural events each year.
