Airguns in Crestwood, Missouri have been around for many years. In fact, airguns were first brought to Crestwood by one of the town's original residents, W.H.L. Wiggins. Wiggins started selling airguns in 1916 and continued to do so until his death in 1928. His son, Wernher Wiggins, took over the business from him and continued to sell airguns until his own death in 1955. In 1923, Crestwood became the first city in Missouri to ban handguns and begin regulating them with a new ordinance. This was done in order to prevent people from using handguns as weapons against other citizens or themselves. Airguns were still not allowed under this ordinance but were still available for purchase by civilians only at local sporting goods stores. In 1938, another ordinance was passed which prohibited all handgun sales within the city limits except to police officers on duty or those owning a firearms license from another municipality who had applied for it. This ordinance also banned the carrying of any gun outside of the city limits without a permit from either the police department or the municipal government. This law helped make Crestwood one of the most restrictive cities in terms of handgun ownership in Missouri at that time. -From 1938 through 1949, all handguns sales within City Limits except Police officer on duty/firearms license holders were banned

Crestwood is located on the crest of a hill and has a wide variety of attractions that include golf courses and country clubs, as well as several shopping malls. The town grew around two military installations: Fort Myer and Camp Blanding. The first settler in Crestwood was Jevon Hargrave in 1824. By 1830, Crestwood had a post office and three stores. In 1836, Colonel John Sibley built Fort Myer on the bluff overlooking Crestwood to protect settlers from Native Americans. The fort served as an artillery battery until 1861 when it became an infantry battalion garrisoned by Union troops under General George Buell. After the Civil War ended, Fort Myer was abandoned and used for storage until it was sold to the town in 1955 for $8 million dollars. In 1865, General James Fenton replaced General Buell at Camp Blanding where he developed a cavalry training camp known as Elmira Park which became one of America's leading horseback riding centers during the late 19th century. In 1905 Chester Ayer purchased land east of Elmira Park from Major Edwin Booth which became home to Isabella Nazareth Hospital followed by St Joseph's Hospital before finally becoming University Health Center in 1984 . With growing industry within walking distance such as Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company (1914), Pioneer Hi-Bred seed company (1920), Monsanto corn seed company (1921), National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) TV station KMOX (1963-1975) and other major businesses coming into being such as American Express Bank 1913-1974 - Crestwood's first bank - many residents moving away during this time period making way for newer development such as Interstate 70 bypassing town center while still keeping most original homes extant along with some new construction including First National Bank Plaza 1908-1970 just outside city limits today giving rise to what is now known as "Old Town" or "Crestwood Village". Today there are over 100 businesses within 500 feet of downtown business district with more than 50% residential units on four blocks between Main Street/Highway I-70 Business District and State Street/I-435 Corridor bringing much needed vitality back to downtown during economic downturns while preserving much original architecture dating back over 100 years

However, there are still some vestiges of Crestwood’s past which can be found throughout the town today. For example, many people still speak English as their first language at home and there is also a strong German-speaking community present. Additionally, there are several small businesses which continue to serve the local market well despite their smaller size compared to other businesses in town. Overall, while Crestwood may not be able to keep up with larger communities like St Louis or Kansas City when it comes time for them to experience significant growth again (due to limited resources) it remains an important part of Missouri history which should be preserved for future generations

It was founded in 1835 as a small community near the confluence of the Niobrara and Missouri rivers. The name came from the fact that Crestwood Creek flowed through it.
