Today, Carthage remains an important cultural center within its community with numerous events taking place throughout the year including arts festivals such as the annual Bluesfestivals Held at Joe's Place Live Music Hall each June since 1978 while also hosting other local events like a farmers market every Saturday throughout summertime along with antique shows occasionally taking place at various businesses around town during fall months
