During World War II, Remington-Remington Armory produced weapons for both the U.S. Army and Navy. After the war ended, these companies merged again to form Remington Outdoor Group (ROG).
Bolivar, Missouri is a city in St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. The population was 15,898 at the 2010 census. Bolivar is part of the Saint Louis–St. Charles metropolitan area. It is named after Simón Bolívar, an independence fighter and author who helped lead Venezuela to independence from Spain in 1811. Bolivar also served as president of Venezuela from 1829 to 1830 and 1848 to 1850. Bolivar was founded by John Cavanaugh in 1857 as a small town on the east bank of the James River adjacent to what is now Ferguson Township on the west side of St. Louis County. In 1870 it became a full city when it annexed parts of Ferguson Township and neighboring communities including Warrensburg and Springfield. The main street that ran through Bolivar until recent times was named José Félix Chavez Boulevard in his honor (now John Cavanaugh Boulevard). In 1898, when St. Louis County merged with nearby Jefferson County, Bolivar became one of its five cities within Jefferson County alone (the others being Florissant Heights, Hazelwood-Edwardsville, Independence Heights-University City, and Park East). This consolidation made bolivarian much more visible than any other city within Jefferson County; indeed many people living outside the downtown area still considered themselves “residential bolivarians” or simply “bolivas” even though they were actually located in Jefferson County suburbs such as Arvada or Maple Grove

However, through all these years and tribulations, Bolivar has managed to maintain some level of cultural significance that makes it something special to visitors visiting central Texas today.
