Bolivar is a small town in Pulaski County, Missouri, United States. The population was 2,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the St. Louis metropolitan area. Bolivar is named after Simón Bolívar, one of the founders of Venezuela and its current president. Bolivar was founded in 1859 by pioneers who arrived from Texas and New Mexico on horseback. The original store burned down in 1860 but a new store was built soon afterward. In 1865, John Davenport donated land for a school which served locals until it closed in 1902. A post office was established here in 1868; it remained open until 1975. The first Methodist church was built here in 1881; it remains operational today as First Baptist Church of Bolivar-Stroudsburg (FBCB). A black church also opened here in 1924 and continues to serve today as Zion United Methodist Church (ZUMC). A gristmill operated here until 1938 when it went out of business. However, a new gristmill was constructed nearby and continues to be used today; it has been called "the most important building in Bolivar" because it processed more than two million bushels of corn per day during the 1920s and 1930s. A water tower erected here in 1907 became one of the earliest standing buildings in Bolivar; this structure still functions Today as the Bolivar Public Library . A drive-in movie theater opened here on Boulevard Drive near Interstate 44 in 1984; this structure still functions today as Cinemark Drive-In Theater . The present day bolivarian community began to form around this structure when members started using this location for their social events such as dances and picnics during lunchtime or after school recess . Today there are several businesses that operate withinbolivan including: an antique shop, a convenience store, a hair salon/beauty salon, a library/information center/, three restaurants/bars/(All Star), two gas stations(One Chevron station & One BP station), two homes(both single family detached homes), four churches/mosques(Three Roman Catholic churches & Two Pentecostal mosques) along with several businesses that provide services such as plumbing servicesand car mechanic services
Red dot sights are a type of sighting system where the shooter can use a red or green dot sight to aim their firearm. This type of sight is often used by law enforcement and military personnel for target shooting, hunting, and other applications. The first Red Dot sights were developed in the early 1970s by Brownells Firearms Holding Company. The first Red Dot sighting system was called the TRS-25. This sight consisted of a 25-mmE lens with an orange light source that allowed shooters to see line up on the target while wearing dark glasses. In the late 1980s, Heckler & Koch began marketing the KA6T2 rifle with a red dot sight. This sight consisted of a 6x40mm objective lens with 4 white LEDs that allowed shooters to see their target at any angle without having to wear dark glasses or use magnification tools. The KA6T2 red dot Sight was used on many different rifles including the Ka4S sniper rifle and AR15 rifles. In 2009, Nikon released its own version of the Red Dot Sight called NP5D1 which featured 5x Magnification and reticle illumination for night operations. The NP5D1 also had an illuminated front blade for easy aiming when under darkness conditions or in lowlight conditions. In 2013, Colt produced its own version of the Red Dot Sight called Colt Combat Master which featured 8x42mm objective lens with 100% Illumination and engraved reticle illumination for night operations as well as suppressed firearms use. In 2017, SIG Sauer introduced their own versions of both red dotsights; SIG P226/P228/P229 RDL models feature 10x optic magnification along with illuminated front blades for easier aiming in nighttime scenarios while suppressor usage is permitted (except when using USPS A2 calibers).

Bolivar, Missouri was founded in 1836 by James Bolivar, a Spanish nobleman who became an American patriot. The town is named after Bolivar's father, Simón Bolívar, who died in 1822 while on a military expedition to Venezuela to help fight against Spanish rule. After the death of his father, Bolívar took up the cause of independence from Spain and fought several campaigns in South America before becoming president of Venezuela in 1830. In 1838 he founded the Republic of Bolivia and led a successful campaign for independence from Peru. In 1849 he was elected president of Peru and served until his death two years later. He is buried at the Monumental Cemetery in Sucre, Peru. Bolivar's legacy lives on through his works such as "The Book of Francis" and "La Historia de América." He also played an important role in shaping U.S.-Peruvian relations which continue to this day. His Visita al Ecuador (1850) remains one of Peruvian history's most famous visitors' guides.

After the war, Bolivar began to grow again as it became an important commercial center due to its location on I-435B. In the 1960s, Bolivar experienced another boom due to its proximity to Kansas City and its role as a transportation hub for both Illinois and Missouri farmers. Today, Bolivar features several shopping centers, churches, schools, and businesses.
