In 1865 a fourth school building (this one still standing) was erected on State Avenue between Third Street West and Fourth Street East; it also closed because there were not enough pupils to meet demand for education during that period. In 1893 an addition to the high school complex (now known as Old Main Campus)was added which included a gymnasium/weight room/fitness center/multi-purpose room/schoolyard/. In 1928 an additional wing - now known as Blue Ridge Hall -was added which included a library/. In 1941 an annex - now known as Station Hall Annex -was added which included classrooms for girls only (). In 1955 an airport hangar / airfield / landing strip / taxiway /pron / fuel storage area (/ )was constructed adjacent to Northeast High School which served locally as a charter airport until 1977 when Missouri Airports Authority assumed management responsibility for the facility (.
