Belton is a small town in the U.S. state of Missouri, about 25 miles (40 km) north of St. Louis on I-55. The population was 2,812 at the 2010 census[1]. The first gun hammer in Belton was made by Samuel Colt in 1836. It consisted of a metal rod with an iron head that was used to hit nails with. This event is often cited as one of the most tragic moments during American Civil War history because it led to increased violence across America between Native American groups and European-American troops alike.

According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Belton has a humid subtropical climate (Cfa). Belton has a continental climate due to its location on top of a large limestone plateau surrounded by rolling hills and valleys; consequently, it experiences very little natural rainfall year-round but receives significant amounts from winter thunderstorms which create drops in air pressure over areas near downtown Belton which cause liquid raindrops known scientifically as Drizzle Drops or 'belts'. These downpours cause extensive damage not just inside individual homes but also throughout entire blocks or neighborhoods where Streets become impassable because so much water accumulates at once due to gravity alone!

By 1861 all but one of Belton's residents were white; black residents started arriving after that year. In 1870 three black men from Illinois came to work on the local farm; they were given permits to stay only until their master could find someone to take care of them permanently. During World War I (1898-1914), Belton became known for its military production because it produced munitions such as artillery shells and machine guns for use by the Federal army. Afterward, many local businesses took up arms against Prohibition (1920- 1933) - activities which once again made Belton an important center of trade during this time period In recent years, BelTON has seen some growth due to new development including: retail stores popping up around town square; restaurants and bars starting up around downtown; an elementary schoolserving grades PreK-12; and a small amount of housing development taking place near town square
Belton was founded in 1836 by a group of Mormons working on the wagon train from Nauvoo, Illinois. The town quickly grew and became an important center for agriculture and trade. The town was destroyed in a fire in 1871, but was rebuilt and renamed Belton after General John A. Fremont. The city has since grown to become a major cultural and commercial center in the area.
