Bellefontaine Neighbors is a small town in Bellefontaine County, Missouri, United States. It was established in 1847 and named for the Bellefontaine River. The population was 597 at the 2010 census. The first gun protection history in Bellefontaine Neighbors can be traced back to 1847 when guns were first brought into the area by settlers. In that year, three men- John Denton, Thomas Ryder and James Heflin- set out from Independence, Missouri to purchase land in what is now BellefontaineNeighbors. They arrived on July 10th and began purchasing property on the banks of the river. Some time later they erected a cabin near where present day Maple Avenue and Main Street cross over the river. From this location they could watch as anyone who wanted to trespass onto their land took aim at them with shotguns or pistols. This early protection system worked well until 1840 when a group of men from Independence decided to move west and encountered Native Americans living along the Missouri River. The natives were not afraid of firearms but were instead terrified of horses, which made crossing rivers difficult for newcomers." In 1846 local resident Isaac Sperling purchased two shotguns from John Denton for $10 each before moving into his own home on Elm Street near Maple Avenue and Main Street.* In 1850 he also built a shotgun range off limits to strangers** *. By 1861 only one shotgun remained unoccupied*". Gun ownership gradually spread throughout Bellefontaine Neighbors due to its easy access to guns available both hunting and self-defense purposes." "From 1860 until Prohibition (1912), gun ownership increased substantially within Bellefontaine Neighbors due largely to its easy access to guns available both hunting and self-defense purposes." As gun control laws changed during prohibition, violence against individuals using firearms decreased as well**". However, while people generally became more careful with their weapons following prohibition*, there was still an occasional incident that led authorities To respond with force." "Since 1919 various ordinances have been passed regulating firearm use within Belle Fontaine Neighbors including Butte Park Ordinance No 2 (1929)*; Jackson Heights Municipal Code Section 8-2 (1940); Jefferson Township Municipal Code Section 3B-1(1954)*; Prairie Village Municipal Code Section 9A-3(1959)*; Shawnee Heights Municipal Code Sections 14C(1974) & 15A(1976))*. These ordinances have resulted in continuing restrictions on handgun possession within certain areas of town since their passage.'"

Bellefontaine Neighbors is a small town in St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. The population was 2,934 at the 2010 census. It is part of the St. Louis metropolitan area. BellefontaineNeighbors was organized on February 14, 1836 when four families of pioneers united to purchase 640 acres (248 ha) of land that includes present-day Bellefontaine and parts of Spring Woods and Cumberland Farms neighborhoods. The community's first postmaster was Wm. Hickey and it had a schoolhouse from 1839-1842. A sawmill operated in the community until 1860; afterwards the miller's family used it to power their farm tractor until they lost their business in 1978. The community declined after World War II as more people moved into urban areas; however, recent immigrants have brought new life to Bellefontaine Neighbors through their businesses and contributions to its culture and economy. The current mayor is Kathy Fenton who has been elected three times since she was first elected in 2008 after serving two terms as an Alderman for the City Councilman’s district including one term as Mayor Pro Tem during which time she also served as Vice President for External Affairs for her predecessor’s office. In addition to her duties as mayor, Fenton also serves on several boards including those representing arts, education, libraries and parks/ recreation; she has also been involved with many committees related to city government such as planning and zoning - all while remaining committed to her constituents throughout her tenure both inside City Hall and outside of it Bellefontaine Neighbors is located just east of Interstate 55 between Maplewood Avenue on the north side of Bellefontaine Boulevard (the main street), Cumberland Farms Road/Spring Woods Road on the south side (the golf course), Spring Woods Drive on the east side (the shopping center), Springwoods Place off I-55 (a park) just northwest of Bellefontaine Elementary School (named after Mrs.) John Stephenson arrived in 1840). To be able to live within walking distance either home or business there were two stores open by 1830: Amos' Store run by Abram Morsechik opened upstream from present day Elmhurst Avenue on what would later become known as Market Street across from where Union Pacific Railroad tracks crossed Belle Fontain Boulevard / Market Street today In order for groceries not being transported over state lines then upriver which increased costs associated with this method there must have been at least one grocery store open six miles away or less established settlements could have easily provided these services This decrease may be partially attributed because railroads growth slowed down beginning around 1850 due largely to competition from steamboats & trucks associated with industrialization rather than technological advancement

However, handguns also had some major disadvantages: they were incredibly dangerous to use if not wielded properly, they required a lot of practice to be able to use them effectively, and they couldn’t shoot as fast as rifles or shotguns. In the late 1800s, scientists developed what would eventually become the modern handgun: the revolver. revolvers were much stronger than handguns before but still needed some practice to be effective at firing projectiles quickly enough to achieve results. They became popular among law enforcement officers and other professionals who needed an easy-to-use weapon that could take down multiple assailants at once. However, despite these advantages over handguns older models such as pistols still faced common issues such as poor accuracy and stability when fired from close quarters (which led to most shootings happening from a distance). In 1916, Colt introduced their new design which would soon revolutionize firearms: the pistol grip gun*. This design allowed usersTo hold onto their weapons with both hands instead of just one hand while firing them.* This made it easier for users To control how quickly their projectile traveled through air by applying pressure on top of the barrel

Bellefontaine Neighbors was founded in 1837 by Captain John Bellefontaine and his wife, Sarah. The Bellefontaines were land owners in the area that is now known as Bellefontaine Neighbors. They started a small farm with four cows and two pigs. In 1838, they added a large barn and began to sell goods to the surrounding farmers. In 1840, Captain Bellefontaine built a sawmill on the stream near where he and his wife still live today. The mill produced lumber for many homes in the area. The mill also helped to create jobs for many people in BellefontaineNeighbors. The first school in BelmontayneNeighbors was built in 1846 by Mrs. Clementson-Thompson. It was called “Missouri’s First School” because it was established in Missouri during the time when slavery was legal there. There were also several stores and businesses around here before Prohibition came into effect in 1920. After Prohibition ended, most of these businesses went out of business or were converted into apartments or condos. Bellefontaine Neighbors continued to grow after Prohibition ended, especially because so many people had found work at new aluminum smelters nearby! By 1930, there were over 100 homes here, along with 10 businesses including a grocery store and post office! Many of these businesses remain active today including: Hometown Grill & Brewery (now closed), Funtime Faire (closed down), Smith’s Lumberyard (closed down), KFC ( closed down), Pfefferty Automotive (− now home of Kroger) and Moreland’s Department Store (− now home of Lowe’s). After World War II,Bellefontaine Neighbors experienced some growth but also some decline due to changes happening within the American community overall; however, many residents have persevered through this time period! As recently as 2000, almost half of all homes here still used wood burning fires which helps contribute to the community's unique flavor!
