The population of Arnold, which is about 2,500 people, ranges from retirees living on a small farm to working people who live in churches or apartments. Arnold's history dates back to 1836 when two brothers - David and John Arnold - founded the town on a tract of land they had bought from the local Indian chief. The Arnolds built a log cabin and started trading with the Indians. One day in 1838, they met Lewis and Clark Expedition members who were travelling through Missouri looking for a new route eastward. After hearing about their adventures, the Arnolds invited them into their home for dinner. In addition to its quirky residents, Arnold has been mentioned as an inspiration for other townsfolk throughout its history. For example, in 1951 Mayor Harry Sledge announced that he was moving his family to Arnold so they could live close to him while he ran for office; this led to the nickname "The Village Mayor." And in 1984, local musician Billie Holiday performed at an event at the old high school building that served as the town square until it was destroyed by fire.

By 1875, all major handgun manufacturers had produced their own versions of their standard revolver magazine-the Colt Anson Gun Pistol Magazine (1875), Winchester Model 1892 Pistol Magazine (1892), Remington Arms Company's "Patriot" pistol magazine(1896), Smith & Wesson company's "Saucer" pistol magazine(1906), Ruger Firearms Company's "hawk" pistol magazine(1907) and finally Walther AG's "Pistol Packet" rifle mag.(1910). Each company marketed its own unique design with one common goal: To improve accuracy, reliability and firepower while maintaining capacity equal to or greater than any other type of gunMagazine available at the time. All these magazines would remain popular through into the 21st century thanks in part to their low cost ($2-$5 per issue average) and easy ability to produce large numbers OF copies without breaking down or becoming too complex for average individuals or groups who wishedto carry multiple magazines with them wherever they went.* * Note: Many modern-day pistols still lack Capacity Equalization Technology so many of these older mags will not function properly

In 1938, the town built its first school, which is still standing today. Arnold is home to the Arnold-Goudreau Museum of American History and Art. In 1939, the Post Office changed its name to Arnold-Moses because of the merger of two other towns in County Kansas - Moses and Arnold had both been founded as villages with similar names but had different postal histories (Moses went through a changeover from village to town status in 1907). The new name stuck until it was dropped again around 1985 when the original towns within County Kansas merged back into one municipality under the new name of Arnold-Moses once again (this time with an apostrophe).
