As the history of bullets goes, Arnold is a place that has had its share. One of the first locations to feature ammunition was at the old Post Office in 1871. Ammunition sales at that time were an important part of the town’s economy and helped keep things running during hard times. The business continued until it was closed in 1935 due to World War II shortages. In 1945, a new company, Wacoal Ammo, opened up shop in Arnold. They produced ammunition for the U.S. military and other agencies until their closure in 1998. That same year saw the launch of Arneel Bullets by CEO Donnie Hensley into what would be one of ARNOLD’s longest lasting businesses ever – providing high-quality ammo products to customers across Missouri and Illinois for over 25 years! Arnold residents have always been interested in firearms and hunting; there are even reports from as early as 1868 that local hunters banded together to purchase rifles from White & Company on site near present day Arnold High School! It wasn’t until after World War I when people really started loading up on rounds for shotguns (due to improved technology) that they realized they needed something more sturdy for handguns – which is when Arneel Bullets became born! Today, Arneel Bullets remains a mainstay in pistol ammunition production with offerings like 9mm Luger and 45 ACP cartridges available both factory fresh (unloaded) and reloaded with various bullet weights standardized across all brands/models! In 1912 the town annexed part of neighboring Howard County. When World War II began Arnold became one of the most important military installations in Missouri due to its strategic location at the crossroads of two major highways - I-70 and US-63 - as well as its large munitions production facilities which manufactured everything from artillery ammunition to fighter planes. The war also resulted in an increase in business activity because soldiers were drafted into service and many local businesses went into operation supplying troops with food, clothes and other supplies necessary for their morale boost during wartime existence. In 1945 Arnold lost its status as an independent community when it merged with nearby Indianola into a single municipality known as Indianola-Arnold

In 1857, a school was built and Arnold soon had a population of around 100 people. The town grew rapidly and by 1870, there were over 300 residents. By 1915, Arnold had reached its peak with over 1,000 residents. However, the city of Kansas City began to grow rapidly and by 1930, Arnold had become just a small town again. The bust of the stock market in 1929 forced many businesses to close their doors and this caused a decline in the popularity of Arnoldtown. However, it is still remembered for being one of the most important towns in Missouri history because it played an important role in developing that state into what it is today.
Arnold, Missouri was founded in 1836 by James K. Arnold and is the oldest incorporated town in Jackson County. The community was named after General James K. Arnold, who fought in the Mexican-American War and later served as a U.S. Congressman from Missouri.
